Question about Samsung 931BF 17" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

All of a sudden my monitor does not come on. The blue back lit on/off button shows power to the monitor but it no longer connects to Windows and is a blank black screen. I have turned off both my Lenovo lap top and the monitor & restarted them to no avail. My lap top screen comes on but when the cable from the monitor to the lap top is connected nothing happens.

I recently bought a Hp Lcd w1907 Monitor off craigslist, the screen worked fine for about an hour then went black, button stays blue. Now every time I power on the monitor it stays lit for 3 seconds...

hi the cause is screen back light not working properly. you need to remove the back cover of the monitor to access the internal part of the monitor. then look for the connector of the cold cathode fluorescent tube back light going to the power inverter board of the back light you will noticed a dry joints which cause a loose connection that is why you hear a sound that cause of spark. you need to re soldered the connector or replaced if totally burned.

Describe your samsung syncmaster 204bw Problem: I turn the monitor on, the power button turns blue, the screen remains dark, the image on my Powerbook G4 appears flashes on the screen before it goes black...

Check the power supply DC filter cpas first.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

How do I turn it on

Hello.

To power on the Gateway VX750, press the power button on the front. The power button has 3 sides with a "G" in the middle.

The LED indicates the power status of the monitor.
  • Not lit - The monitor is turned off or does not have power connected.
  • Blinks one time and then goes off - The LED blinks one time when the monitor's power cord is plugged into an AC outlet to indicate that power is detected.
  • Lit solid blue - The monitor is turned on and active.
  • Blinking blue - The monitor is in power saving mode. Before entering power saving mode, a message briefly appears.
Hope this helps.
