I need to know if you are trying to steam cleaning. If so you should be picking up water off the carpet. It may be plugged with debris some where and I would look to see if I can find a filter some where along the line of airflow. My expertise is not actually in steam cleaners but vacuums. I would also consult your manual and if you don't have on e you can get one at www.pronto.com Also check to see if the roller brush is spinning and if it is not getting thee water up off the carpet. Stop it and get all the solution out of it as well as what it has picked up and try it again as it may sound weird but it could have an air lock in the system

Most likely your vent for the suction container is plugged or the suction hose can of or is broken at the connection to the tank nozzle (very common on these. Clean the machine thoroughly, and check that all hoses are tight and connected.

Low suction

1) Have you checked the filter? If it is clogged your suction will be low. Also, you could have a pipe loose where you can't see. Make sure that you can get a coin to go all the way through the hose. make sure the suction motor ( the unit ) is coming on.

2) Call the repair man.

Vacuum Keeps Clogging

Wish I knew what you have. You could have a clogged filter. Have you dropped something like a big marble down thru the hose to see if it comes out with out any problem. Sometimes a needle or nail or a piece of something that gets caught and turns sideways so that things hang up on it then clog up the hose. If your vac. will run without the hose, if it does, how is the suction at the spot that the hose plugs into? If ok, then there is a problem with the hose, if low, then you have a problem with the vac. If this an upright, the dirt inlet by the brsh roll is clogged, or the belt is stretched enought so the the brush roll uner load won't turn, acting like low suction.

Getting no suction

Check the hose for a clog, when suction is low, you will usually find a clog in the hose or in the dirt inlet by the brush roll. If this is less then a year old, then it is still in warranty, if you can't figure it out, then take it and proof of purchase to a warranty repair shop.

Kirby Low Suction

Have you checked the fan? It is what creates the suction. If ok, then you may have a motor problem, sometimes they run but not up to speed, then suction is lowered when that happens.

Low suction

Is the water seal in place or missing? Another cause would be a bad motor, running at a slower speed will mean low suction. If it is a motor, then you would have to replace it. Is the suction low at machine without the hose, if it is ok then may be a clog in the hose.

Low Suction/No Soap

Check the seal at the bottom of the dispenser, it needs to be on the valve not sitting in the hole, part 2101795 if you need to replace it. If suction is low, check the filter on the bottom of the tank lid, if clogged, suction will be low. Also check window gasket, sits between the tank and the nozzle window, if missing, you won't have any suction part #2104052.

Filter sucks against top creating low suction

Beckyanneok,

See my post with the same problem (described in painful detail) at:

I've no idea why this should happen all of a sudden. But it has. And so far nobody is suggesting anything.

Don.
