You can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com).

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

CCD sensor

This is such a specific request, I'll assume you know what you are doing ..... the ccd sensor is quite a difficult part to change.

From my perspective, best option would be to find a donor body thats defective in a different way. There are lots on eBay ....

One thing you might consider is buying a reasonable secondhand one - again from eBay they are less than $50 ......

Finally, Canon had a recall on the A75 for bad sensor problems - I'm not sure if you qualify, but .....

Hope this helps

Hey thereSuzy, I have just had the same problem. Kindly a solution was offered by icecubefairy via Fixya. I have the exact same camera
I had been to the following website during the course of waiting for a reply from fixya. http://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html
I have called Canon Camera Repairs & Imaging Services in Sydney direct. The phone number is on the Canon website to head office anyway and they patch ya through. They offer to fix the problem which is with your CCD chip inside the camera for free. Don't ask what the ccd chip is lol but it sounds impressive:) Sure hope this helps and this site is magic. Nice to know that people out there will help a novice like me:)
Cheers

Power Shot A75

Of course it does, it has full manual control (M), but may I suggest first trying "shutter priority" (Tv). This mode lets you set shutter speed up to 15 seconds, but it automatically sets the aperture to match the shutter speed that you set. Merely turn the mode dial to Tv, then use the right/left buttons to select the shutter speed.

Now before pressing the shutter button, may I also suggest that you use the camera's shutter delay timer to take the picture (this will eliminate any shake from you pressing the button). Just press the function button to bring up the menu. then find the timer setting (try 2 seconds).

Here's where you can download your camera's user manual if you want to read more on what your camera can do:

I move the control dial on top of the camera from AUTO to the running figure for action shots, but there is still some delay - you need to snap the photo just *before* the shot is perfect

Canon Powershot A75 blurred LCD display

It sounds like the focus element in your lens is not functioning properly. Does the lens retract completely when you turn off the camera? When you push the button does the camera attempt to focus the image? If you do not see any change in the image when you push the button, and do not hear any sound - then your focus motor is either jammed or malfunctioning. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
