My JVC went out like it did about 3 1/2 months ago and 2 yrs before that. When I turned it on the blue light came on and the little red light above that comes on and then it starts blinking rapidly. The first time this happened we had a service man come out, it was the bulb, he replaced it and it cost 200.00. The second time, I replaced it and it cost 80.00, this time I got the bulb, replaced it and it did nothing. Still blinking red light and no TV.

In that case the power source of the bulb - the ballast board - has also failed due to old age. You will have to replace it, it can't be fixed.

newer high voltage electrical systems can burn out bulbs as often as every few months. 2 years is certainly no problem.

I also have this model. A few months ago, when I turned on the tv, it told me my lamp was in need of replacement. just yesterday, my tv did the same as you....the blue light flashed and then the lamp light kept flickering. All I can say is your lamp needs to be replaced.
