When you remove the back of the set. You will fined a couple of caps on the power supply board that are bulged and they need to be replaced, or you can buy a new power supply at www.partstore.com. If you want to just purchase the caps, you can get them at www.mcmelectronics.com

I'm having the same problem with my Samsung Model HP-T5054 Plasma TV. When I plug the TV in the Circuit Breaker Extension it just clicks and when I power on the TV by remote or manually the blue light lights up and the TV CLicks like it is coming on, but don't. Could it also be the Ceramic Fuse? Where are these caps and Power supply located? There must be a defect in this TV for this to happen to more than one. This happened a week after my 4 year Warranty, Samsung didn't offer an extented warrany. That should have told me something then.

Correction! Power Supply, not Circuit Breaker Extension.

Hello,

Before you start repairing the unit yourself you need to check with Samsung. This model is covered under a class action settlement pertaining to bad capacitors on the power supply board. The bad power board will cause the unit to not power up or to have a wavy or flashing picture. Samsung has agreed to repair all units covered under the settlement free of charge regardless of standard warranty coverage. You can get details of the settlement here:

If the front led is lit, the TV is on standby. Did you place the batteries in the remote correctly?
There might only be one button that turns the TV on/off (usually the red one in the top of the remote)
Did you plugin the picture feed cable correctly (VGA, DVI, Antenna etc.)?
