Check and see if it has blown either of the 30 amp fuses supplying the 220 volts. More likely the duct heater sensor. Small sensor connected by small wires on the air duct found after you remove the front panel.

I have a Bravos XL dryer < than 1 year old. Suddenly it stopped running & the LEDs all went out. There is power at the 250 v outlet but no panel lights or drum light. I am not sure where to start.

Hi Larry

A small cheap MultiMeter would assist here

Allowing you to trouble shoot to where power is lost.
Probe & aligator clip to Neutral or ground
& probe for 240v ac
Caution is essential near we floors

Would also be nice to have a RCD in your meter box for shock protection (ground to active phase)
....unless you've got a heart like horse!

or a portable one plugged in at the wall.
It will only save you from ground to active phase shock
not phase to neutral.
Better safe than sorry

Casablanca Trident ceiling fan issue - light suddenly stopped working - replaced bulb to no avail - fan works fine otherwise...ideas?

Is it powered from the same breaker as the fan, check the breaker, if so check the connections. Most likely if its a pull chain switch the switch is bad,,,,, it's common..

Our dryer just suddenly stopped! We have no light and it seems no power. We checked out fuse box and everything is fine there. Does this dryer have a fuse that would cause all electricity to stop?

Hello
No .Double check your cicuit breakers. If your dryer is electric there are two breakers.Switch all the way off then all the way on to reset.
I if ok then suspect door switch .It kills everything and if stuck ,the light too.

Happy hunting

May Maytag dyer Performa Model number PYE3300AYW will not start the light in the dryer is off i turned to turn off and on the breaker but nothing happens. My question is that if the light needs to be...

no the light has nothing to do with the dryer not running, sounds like a breaker issue. You will need a multimeter and some screwdrivers. first make sure that the breaker has power, you will need to take the front panel off, then with the meter check for your 220 volts at the breaker(where the wires are hooked up), next check for voltage at the outlet, if all these have power then it is in the dryers cord, you will need to move the dryer out and remove the plate and check for voltage, if it does then you will have to trace it into the dryer. Good Luck Tim

Dryer wont turn on. Breaker in breaker box is fine. No light inside dryer. What's wrong?

Dryers run off 220v, and sometimes only one leg of the breaker trips. So you need to flip the breaker all the way off, and then back on. Sometimes the breaker feels off but is not fully reset. Make sure you completely trip it off then back on. Does the dryer light work now? Is there any indication that it's getting some power? If the breaker is fine and your still not getting power, then the next step is to make sure you have power coming to the plug behind the dryer. At this point you should only continue if your comfortable working with electricity. Once you move the dryer you can check the outlet with a meter, or other circuit tester. If you got power here, then you'll need to start checking things on the dryer. you can remove the plate where the cord goes into the dryer and look for loose or burnt wiring there. If that looks ok, then you'll need to start taking the dryer apart; front panel, top, back, etc, as needed to access the wiring and controls. From here you can trace the wiring from the supply to the controls and to the motor, etc. look for anything burn, If nothing looks out of place you can start checking temp sensors, or fusable links. If this is above your head, then stop where your not comfortable and have checked by a service technician.

Dryer interior light and motor will not turn on

plug something else into the wall outlet to make sure you're getting power there and try changing the bulb.if there is power check the door switch, move the paddle in and out and you should hear a clicking sound,if you don't change out the door switch, also check the back of the dryer at the block where the power cord connects to the dryer and make sure you have power there.also is there a gfi plug anywhere near the dryer that might have to be reset,i've seen this, also i've come across whoever wired the outlet switched the hot wire and the neutral around so when the machine is plugged in the wiring isn't correct

Dryer suddenly stopped working while drying clothes. There is power because the light comes on when the door is opened.

Try turning the dryer breaker pair in the house electrical panel off then on. Try the dryer again. If still won't work, measure the voltage at the power socket across the two slanted slots--it should read ~230 volt AC. If ok, there are internal problems in the dryer--bad controller, motor not running, or the heater element is bad. If you don't measure ~230 volts, one of the breaker pair is bad or there is a loose wire between the breaker and the power socket. Have an electrician check that out.

My maytag dryer won't heat up

try flipping you breaker off and on 2 or 3 times (hard and fast) if this don't work check element, timer , thermostats and safety switch on motor 2 heavy red wires (check wiring diagram for pin numbers of safety switch)....if this switch goes bad the motor will still run but it wont let power go to element
