Question about Panasonic Matshita- | UJ-845-B | USB 2.0 | DVD-+RWRAMDL (GPUJ845BU) Burner

2 Answers

Computer is a Sony Vaio VGN-TT46MG - an 11" screen and Matshita DVD-RAM UJ892AS drive. The drivers are correct and loaded correctly. The registry settings have been reported as being incorrect/incomplete. I can not even get the DVD drive to open with the manual button on the computer! Does anyone have the registry settings for this DVD?

    It is a Sony Vaio computer - not Panasonic! The drive is a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-892-AS.

    I have installed the drivers; the device page is showing the drivers running correctly. An update returns that the drivers are the latest.

    Three different driver update programs (Driver Robot, Driver Detective & Driver Scanner), all show that the drivers are correct and loaded correctly.

    I had one instance of a message from Win 7, that the registry settings for the DVD were corrupted.

    If I can get the settings that are correct, I can do a comparrison check ...... and change them if required.

    If you have a set of drivers, send them to me and I will re-install them.

    If I press the external eject button on the front right edge of the Vaio laptop, I get the message -

    "Cannot open the tray of the optical drive."

    Any further ideas? Please send me some drivers!

    Cheers,

    Alan.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class/{4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
4. Click the REG_MULTI_SZ data type UpperFilters, and then click Delete on the Edit menu. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
5. Click the REG_MULTI_SZ data type LowerFilters, and then click Delete on the Edit menu. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
6. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

And another way is to make sure you have correctly inserted the IDE and Power Cables.

Thank you for using Fixya!

No one will have the "registry settings" for your computer. All you need is the drivers for the system. When Windows is installed, the registry is developed, nothing to worry about as far as "registry settings." Just drivers and your set.

    Also, if the DVD drive will not open at all, it is probably not corrected properly. Check the connecting wires for the drive internally. The wire has 4 pins and has black, red, and yellow wires in the connector.

You need to go to device manager and pull up the properties for the DVD drive and choose the "Region" that you are in. After that the drive should work.

My matshita dvd-ram uj880es driver has a code 39 ,

Start>run>type in "regedit"

go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>>current cotrol set>control>class>{4d36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10319}

go ahead and delete the following,

upperFilters
LowerFileters
UpperFilters.bak
LowerFilters.bak

delete them, exit registry, restart and see if that fixes it.

(Remember to always back up your registry, and files when ever messing with the registry).

Its purely the DVD fault.
Try using a different brand dvd disk.
