Call the salesman to send over a tech to do a warranty service call. This could be a defective fan, or the thermo start sensor.

My Frigidaire brand refrigerator blower motor does not come on. Where is it located in this refrigerator?

Your evaporator fan is located in the back section of the freezer. In this particular model the fan is energized by the ADC(auto defrost Control) which is in the control panel in the fresh food section. Behind the thermostats. The red wire with a white tracer is the power feed to the fan from this control. The condenser fan is beside the compressor in the back of the unit.

Repeat, corrected model number

Try unplugging the fridge and replugging it in. On this model if it doesn't cool, the display/temperature reading for the unit may start beeping like crazy. Resetting it sometimes fixes this. If you hear the compressor motor kick on, and it doesn't cool within 24 hours, your fridge will need a major repair. If it doesn't turn on at all, you may need a less expensive repair.

At idle it is quite but when the compressor kicks on it makes a loud grinding noise.

The condenser fan in the back near the compressor comes on when the compressor comes on. The fan motor is the likely problem. It is easy to replace and inexpensive. Here is a link that should help Condenser fan replacement Spin the fan blade by hand or listen closely when it is making the noise to isolate it.

Now if the fan is not the problem and the noise is coming from the compressor, the compressor will likely need to be replaced. This is hardly ever worth the cost of the repair. You would be better off buying a new unit.

My 1997 Honda Accord 4cyl. condenser fan began to run continuously (even after engine was shut off) after cycling the A/C temp. selector from hot to cold. I disconnect the condenser fan to avoid draining...

Sounds like the AC relay/switch is sticking on sometimes. Locate and swap this relay. Look at your fuse box lids for location or search online for the exact location. You also might have a leak in the ac lines or the AC condenser clutch is not engaging to kick the ac on. You should feel a slight power loss or hear a slight stutter in the engine when pressing your AC switch. This means everything kicked on. It's a millisecond before the ECU realizes this and kicks up the idle to compensate.

I have a frigidaire window air conditioning unit, model FAM187S2A, and the condenser doesn't seem to be kicking on.

Check the motor for power. The condenser only has the compressor and the fan as its moving parts. Check if there is power running to it or you may just have the fan that is not working. In checking see if there is a correct freon pressure, power cables or relay for the compressor are all ok or there are leaks in the system. You may want to have it cleaned while at it.

Condenser fan operation is sporadic

Check the fan relay. It sounds like it is weak and not staying latched. This could definitely cause your problem. Also, check the voltage to the relay to make sure it is correct.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

Try turning the power off at the fuse box, waiting 5 minutes turning the system back on and spray some water on the vents on the side of the outside condenser. If the fan isnt spining get a twig and spin it in an anti-clockwise direction after 1 or 2 spins it should start spinning on its own. continue to hose the vents with water for another 5 minutes. Its important to have the fan spinning as it extracts the heat from the condenser box.

Frigidaire side by side refridge

pull the kick plate off under the doors. if you look in behind the kick plate youll see alot of dust build up. this area needs to be cleaned once a year to keep air flowing properly over the condenser coils. if the dust build up is minimal then remove back panel of refrigerator and make sure the fan is running behind the refrigerator. if not, or if running real slow replace the fan motor. the heat is the because the condenser is getting too hot. it needs to be fix or the compressor life will be greatly shortend
