Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

The refrigerator make a clonking noise intermittently, It seem to be at the end of a compressor cycle. I am not sure of the time between the cycles, but I started noticing the noise recently and it seems to be getting louder every time.

My trton t90z makes a loud noise 15 secs after its turned off. Its the thermal switch. Should I get it replaced. Its 2 days old.

What makes u think its the thermal switch? normally the noise at beginning or end of cycle is caused by the compressor with bad springs, groumets, or not sure how to explain this but the freon sits in a round bowl like orifice and when its low there is usually a loud noise at end of and beginning of cycle. other words when goes off and comes on? ( this is usually due to moving the fridge on it side and not waiting long enough for oil to settle before turning on?

BUZZING NOISE FROM MY HEAT PUMP

Take a look at this YouTube page that explains with good videos what are some of the common problems with heat pump noise. The one that seems dominant is the defrost cycle a heat pump goes thru when it melts ice off the evaporative coils. In defrost cycle, The compressor runs but the cooling fan does not, so you will hear a loud buzzing sound and the unit sounds like it is stalled...because only the compressor is running to generate heat to melt coil ice.

Hi, my Miele G1142SC makes noise at startup

Mine is doing the same thing. I tried running a finish cleaner though a cycle. I did nothing I was about to do the same thing again when it just stopped doing it. What did you end up doing?

Refrigerator shutting off intermittantly. I can

Something is causing the compressor to overload. That something may be parts on the main board or in start and run features of compressor. It also could be the thermostat just because of the way you explained. If you would like my assistance I will be here and back soon with more information related to the model PSW26P. I see that model for some reason has an electronic interface (digital touch pad). Are you sure about your model number? Please let me know the correct model number and I will be happy to assist you either way, Sea Breeze

Frig shutters and makes noise when the cooling cycle shutoff.

It is probably caused from one or more of the four rubber bushings that mount your compressor to the refrigerator frame. The bushings wear over time and causing the compressor bracket to have a little play. Then when the compressor stops it moves the frame slightly bumping against the mounting bolt causing a slight to moderate sounding clunk when stopping, Also check a lines and cords as a cord refrigeration line near the compressor or fram can also cause the problem.

Loud noise from GE Side by Side

That's usually mounts inside the compressor. It could still last awhile so if you can put up with the noise just wait for it to quit before replacing the compressor or getting a new fridge.

Refrigerator Compressor has loud vibration

Clean the coils. what you are hearing is the valves as the pressure equqlizes. Also make sure that the fan by compressor is on while compressor is running.

Loud periodic buzzing

Are you sure this noise is not just the ice maker trying to cycle without water? If it is not turned off it will dry cycle every 15 min or so.
