I think your talking about the water let tube . but you do have a tube comming from the valve to the ice maker . any of the plastic lines are 1/4 in and use comp type fittings . It's best to cut back the tube about 1/2 in and use a new comp fitting and this should corect problem .. mm hope this helped and thanks for using fix-ya mm

Water is leaking under fridge when I use the water dispenser

This means you have a cracked water line tube coming from the valve. The water valve will be in the rear near the compressor, likely made of blue plastic. If the fridge has an icemaker, there will be two fill tubes coming off of the valve, the water dispenser line will be the larger of the two... depending on the model, there will be a quick disconnect behind the kickplate below the freezer door, disconnect the water line there and replace that section back to the valve... Sometimes the water inlet gets clogged. This happens a lot if u are using well water. Take the water line loose from back of fridge. fold the tube to stop water from leaking on floor if it is a plastic tube. have a bucket handy and put line in bucket let the water flow. It should come hard and fast. If not go to water valve where it pirces the main water line. check the hole and make sure it is large enough to supply the water. I had to take a drill bit and make the hole a little larger. That fixed mine. If that is not the problem then I would replace water inlet valve on the fridge.

Hi,

One big question before you go hunting. Before you turn off the water, was the water running all the time? Meaning if the water had a continuos flow the leak is before the fridge. If the leak is erratic then its on the valve side to fridge.
Follow the water source in the fridge, supply line to water valve (bottom right behind the fridge), from there it should run straight up the back into the freezer. So, if the water is coming from the valve, replace it, if from the water line - replace it. If the water line came off or out of the freezer reconnect and check for a frozen fill tube.
I hope this information helps.

Two possibilities:
1. A cracked plastic tube. These will leak whenever there's a call for water - either the chilled water dispenser, or re-filling the icemaker tray (two seperate tubes). Pay particular attention to anywhere the tubes are clamped to the chassis; anywhere they're routed near or under the refrigeration unit; and near the solenoid valve - especially if there's a tight loop in the tube there.
2. A bad (leaking) connection where one of the tubes exits the water valve. Again, these will leak whenever the valve is activated.

Those plastic tubes don't last forever. I've replaced many of them for the same symptoms. They're known to simply deteriorate with age.
Manuf's make good money selling replacement tubing kits.

The water line that connects to the back top of the fridge busted loose. It looks like there is an adhesive pad that keeps it in place. How do I fix it? Scott

Hi Scott and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

The plastic line that connects to the ice maker rubber FILL tube is what came off. Check inside the freezer and squeeze the end of the rubber tube at the back of the ice maker. I would bet it is frozen with ice. (Hand held hiar dryer for quite a while to defrost the tube FYI and do NOT melt the plactic of the ice maker water funnel.) What causes the tube to freeze is the inlet water valve starts bypassing water when it is supposed to shut off. The result of this bypassed water is a frozen rubber tube and the plactic tube on the back of the refirgerator blows off or leaks. This inlet water valve is NOT repairable.

The Fix... Replace the inlet water valve and make sure the rubber ice maker fill tube is defrosted BEFORE re-inserting the plastic tube back into the rubber fill tube. It just pushes in and the adhesive pads for holding the plastic line in place are not critical even if they are lost. The rubber fill tube fitting will retain the plastic hose just fine as long as the ice maker end of the tube is not frozen from a leaking inlet water valve.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Ge ice maker is leaking water from the fill tube extension. water freezes and pushes tube out of refrigerator wall.

Your water valve is not sealing closed completely and allows drips of water to seep through and freeze inside the fill tube. Either your water valve is bad or you have low water pressure to the fridge. Turn the water supply off, disconnect from the fridge's water valve, and turn supply back on and run it into a bucket. Should be pretty strong flow. If its weak the fridge ain't your problem.

The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube. You can thaw the fill tube and replace the water inlet valve.

Kenmore 10670187000 Refrigerator. freezer filling with water/ice

You pull it out from inside the freezer but I would try melting any ice that may be stopping it up first with a hairdryer. The water inlet valve on the back of fridge is probably leaking and when the water gets to to fill tube it freezes and partially blocks the tube causing it to spray out. Disconnect the line coming out of the water inlet valve to see if it has a slow leak. You may need to replace the valve.
