I have taken the unit apart and am going to replace the washer tub bearing. Any grease required? If so what weight?

Thank you.

The switch to start a load is loose. It will not start the load. I have gotten it to work by pressing down hard on the knob and turning and then it activates the sequence if I am lucky. I am sure it just needs to be fastened in place. Has anyone ever fixed this problem?

Normally there is no grease required as they are closed bearings.

Have a GE WSXH208HWW Spacesaver, Washing Basket is wobbling. What is the problem and can I fix it myself?

2 possible problems. On the outside of the tub front and on the top back are cement counter weights that are bolted to the tub. If they are coming loose, they would cause the tub to go off balance and wobble. If just the stainless inner tub is the one that wobbles, that suggests a bad rear drum bearing. The counter weight problem easy to fix once you get the top and back off and just need re-tightened. The back drum bearing is something even trained techs want to avoid. It requires removing the complete tub/drum assembly from the washer----then splitting the outer tub in half to replace the inner drum and bearing assembly. Cost for parts will be excessive and not worth the repair.

How do I remove the bearing from the rearof the drum on a front load lg washer it is a modle WM2032HS and I have it all the way apart except the bearing looks like it is pressed in but im not sure

This is a very involved repair and will require disassembling most of the washer, which you have witnessed. The manufacturer recommends that if possible the complete outer tub and bearing be replaced rather than attempting to replace just the bearing in the tub. If the bearing is bad the problem is going to get worse very quickly and so either the drum and bearing will need to be replaced or the washing machine.

GE Profile washer, tumbler out of balance?

Empty, fill with water only run through spin cycle. Replace clothes
do not overload and try to distribute clothes in an even weight pattern over the tub bottom.

How do i remove tub bearing from GE model whdvh626ww washer

Replacing the tub bearing requires a complete tear down. It's not too hard of a job, but it does require tools and perseverence. Go to YouTube and type in the search bar, "front load washer bearing replace" to see what you are in for. Let me know if you decide to tackle it and get stuck.

Can you replace the outer tub bearings on a Maytag Neptune Model FAV6800AWW

yes you can but will warn you it is a small project to do... the unit will require to be dismantled in order to get to the outer bearings... the lower unit taken apart and tub springs, drain hoses and taken out of machine to access everything... can be done but is about a 2 hour project if it is your first time to do it...

I have a GE Select Top loading wash machine that is making alot of noise during the spin cycle. 99/2000 model

If it sounds like a jet plane taking off, a grinding noise, it is the bearing. This is pretty difficult to replace. If you do attempt it, you MUST replace the inner tub seal. This is leaking onto the bearing, causing it to go bad.

My GE Profile Dryer is still operating but produces loud intermitent noise as the drum rotates. What can I do to eliminate the noise?

It sounds like you may have a bad bearing in the back of the drum. That model rotates on a sort of ball and socket type mechanism. You may be able to lubricate it if the noise is just squealing/squeaking. If it is more than that, you'll probably need to replace the bearing mechanism. If you lube it, use a heavy weight lube that is rated for high heat (I've used brake caliper grease.)

GE Washer WPSR3100W0WW roars like a freight train in spin cycle

You would need a transmission (WH38x10002) which comes with a new tub seal, and runs between $150 and $200. Check the back of the owners manual to see if your washer has a five year warranty on the transmission. (newest ones may be only 1 year) They do make a couple special tools which make the repair easier, and an experienced tech can do one in about a half hour, but your first one will take much longer. Motor is most likely just fine.
