I do not know my user ID

Your Internet service provider (ISP) requires a username and password to access service features, including Internet and email.
Your ISP should provide this information when you set up your Internet service.
Typically, once you complete the setup and save the information, your router or modem transmits it behind the scenes when you try to access the Internet.
As a result, the username and password can be easily forgotten because they are not used daily. If you reset your router or simply forget the password, gaining access to network resources and the Internet becomes a challenge.

Navigate to your router's Internet Protocol (IP) address using a Web browser, entering the IP as if it were a Web page URL, to view its Web-based configuration page.
This IP address varies by network, but if you run a home network the IP is most likely 192.168.0.1.
Oftentimes there will be an "Account" section where you can view your user name and, if the router's firmware was written poorly, your password in plain text as well.
Look at the original documentation you were given by your ISP.
This documentation often includes your user name and password.
Also, if you use a combined telephone and Internet service, your user name and password are likely identical for both accounts.
Your user name and password may also be the same as your ISP email account.

Check your billing statements.
Some ISPs only require an email address and some personal information to authenticate.
Your billing statement will include additional information, such as your account number, that may be a part of your log in credentials.
Call your ISP and ask them to reset your password. Some ISPs may provide a Web resource for acquiring or resetting your password. Try your ISP's website before you call them.

Trying to set up my wii to internet. have correct address, betting error code 51331

According to Nintendo's website you will receive that error if you have not entered in your wireless passcode correctly. See below error explanation from Nintendo:
Error Code: 51331
Unable to connect to your wireless network
Likely cause: It appears that the password (also known as a WPA or WEP key) entered into the Wii console is not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.
How to fix: Make sure the password is entered into the Wii exactly as it appears in your router's settings. Security keys are case sensitive.
Don't know how to find your router's password?
Look for a sticker on the bottom of your router. Many routers provided by Internet service providers have their default password located on a sticker on the bottom of the router.

If you're not able to locate the password here, select the brand of your router below and we'll show you how to access your router's settings.

I cant get the internet to work through the router. then i also cant get my xbox to work either

This really depends on how your Internet service works. There are two types of Internet authentication. PPPoE and DHCP. You should know this first.

If you do, for PPPoE, you should be given a user name and password that should be set to the modem provided by your ISP(Internet Service Provider). You have to set your modem to bridge mode and set all the router to PPPoE then enter your user name and password.

If your Internet service authentication is a DHCP, you still have to set the modem to bridge mode (provided by ISP). Then set your router setting to DHCP. Reboot both your devices and you should be able to connect.

Hope that helps.
Thanks.

I have a 2wire gateway modem/router and i need to reset it, but i dont have the default password located on the bottom of the modem/router because it fell off. I need to find out what the default password...

Open your Internet browser.
Type http://gateway.2wire.net/setup into the browser's address line.
You should see your key on the setup page.

Back-Up Key Codes

In most cases, you will receive a key code from your ISP. This key code is used to activate the 2Wire gateway. If you did not receive a key code, you can use the key codes provided in the following table.

If your Internet Service Provider did not provide you with

a user name, password, or IP address to set up your

Internet connection, your broadband connection most

likely uses DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)

and you should use this key code.

52EU-2374-2262-22AT-B222

If your Internet Service Provider gave you a PPPoE

username and password to set up your Internet

connection, your broadband connection uses Point-to-

Point Protocol over Ethernet and you should use this key

code.

52EU-2374-6262-22AS-B22Y

If your Internet Service Provider assigned you an IP

address to set up your Internet connection, your

broadband connection uses static IP (Internet Protocol)

and you should use this key code.

52EU-2374-2E66-22AS-B2TW

If your Internet Service Provider gave you a PPPoA

username and password to set up your Internet

connection, your broadband connection uses Point-to-

Point Protocol over ATM. In this case, you would use this

key code and Microsoft Dial-up Networking to connect to

the Internet.

Hi angelique624,

You can reset your router settings by pressing the reset button behind the router.

CAUTION: All your existing settings that allow you to access internet will be erased.
If you don't know the setting ask your Internet Service Provider to provide you with the same.

If you lost your Internet user ID and password you need to call your Internet Service provider technical support number and follow the step-by-step instruction provided by the operator.

The procedure require interaction and information on your specific account, that is the reason why you need to call ISP.

If you do not know ISP number, post details your location and internet company (EG: I live in Mexico, I have AT & T internet), possibly on a new request on Fixya, as sometimes follow ups on old questions go unnoticed.

Several ways to find out. One is to connect to the router's web based settings and find out if your service provider assigned an IP address to the router. Even though it states that you are connected to the network doesn't always mean you are connected to the internet. Within the settings of the router, under status you should be able to see the IP address assigned by the provider. You can release it and renew it to make sure you are receiving the latest IP that was sent from you provider. The second way to see if the issue lies with the router....bypass the router by connecting one of your computers directly to the modem. If you are connected to the internet immediately then you will know the problem lies between the modem and router. To get into the web based settings of the router type 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 into an open internet explorer address bar. Window should pop up asking for username and password. admin should be used for both. Contact me if you any other questions. Just to clarify though, router's are prone to lock-up or losing signal due to interference and age.

Good Luck.

Teach me pls...

hello!

-- who is your internet service provider
-- what is the operating system of your computer?
-- is this working fine before or is this a brand new router

you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router

note:

configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

if you are still having trouble configuring your device, call supportrix and use supportcall as your promo code for 1 free technical support.
