Question about Miele 24 in. G892SCU Plus Built-in Dishwasher

Water drainage I have followed the manual instructions for clearing all appropriate filters on the intake and outflow side but the cycle does not complete and leaves a pool of water in the base. What next? I have the G568/858 Plus Incognito unit (thisis the closest part # to my actual unit--can't even find teh right # listed...), and aI m dealing with the sme issue. I have followed all of the recommended steps in cleaning the filters, traps, etc. There are no kinked hoses. The water drains to begin the cycle and then about 3 minutes later, after soem water has begun to flow into the machine, it stops the cycle and the Intake/Drain light comes on. This unit is 22 months old. :-(

Thx for your quick response and suggestion. I did check the intake line from the sink wateline, but found no blockage. When the unit is filling with water, the only place where water is introduced into the unit is on the right side of the dishwasher wall--through the round opening with theh removable "wheel". I took the "wheels" off both sides to check for blockage there, but nothing. After trying to start the unit several times, this continues to be the only place where water comes into the dishwasher--not anywhere else.

I have no way of checking whether the water pressure is adequate or not (as far as I know). I did replace the garbage disposal in November, but my assumption is that this wou;donly affect the drainae side, and not intake.

  • KBrice Jun 03, 2008

You are saying that although I am having an intake problem, still focus on the drain hose?

  • KBrice Jun 03, 2008

Thx--I tried that awhile ago. I believe you are talking about what Miele calls teh "triple filter", which i removed (has a square-shaped rigid screen looking base) and checked there for clogs and debris. Ditto for the intake valve.

  • KBrice Jun 03, 2008

I did knock out the plug for the disposal to conenct to the water line. The disposal was replaced 7 months ago and there has been no problem before--it has drained fine as far as I know. my concern is that there may be debris but the clog is too far inside the machinery that I can't reach it. My wife did finda small piece of glass in the dishwasher, so a glass must have broken. Impact? Thx

Check where the drain hose connects to the drain on the sink and while you have the hose off get a bucket and start the washer to see how it drains some times you can get a picture and pour water in the drain hose to reprime the pump you are having a drain problem right take the drain hose off the sink connector and check the sink tube for blockage

Sounds like you're dealing with a pressure problem...from the pump or the circulation channels.

Water is not getting drained from the botom of the machine

Hi,

There are several possibilities as to why water isn't draining from your washer:

1. Blocked drain filter
The filter is usually at the bottom of the wash compartment. You didn't state which model of dishwasher you have, so please refer to your user manual for instructions for cleaning your filter. If you don't have a manual, please post back here with your dishwasher brand and model number for information on cleaning your filter and where to download a manual if one is available.

2. Blocked/kinked waste hose
Check the waste outflow hose at the back of the washer for any kinks or other damage. Also remove the hose where it attaches to your sink (or waste outlet) and check for any blockages both in the end of the hose and at the sink attachment. If there is a lot of dirt in the hose, it may be blocked somewhere further back.

3. Blocked waste disposal / sink trap / waste outflow
Make sure your sink is draining efficiently. Clean as necessary

4. Faulty waste pump
If all of the above check out, you may have a faulty pump. Please post back for further advice regarding this after completing the above checks.

BElectric

My trusty Bosch s510 Dishwasher which has been going strong for about 17 years (at least) has just decided not to empty itself. I noticed the bottom was full of water after a wash. I emptied all the water...

Same problem, so went out and bought a new bosch. Problem with the S510 was cured by lubricating the pump out motor bearings with a squirt of WD 40. If you don't know which pump, follow outlet hose to pump outlet.

Miele G841 Built in. Intake/Drain light on/flashing and the dishwasher just shuts down.

In the user manual there's a section on how to clean the non-return valve. It's the plastic piece under the wire below the triple filter. Why did you pull out the machine? Did you kink the drain hose? If you don't find a clogged valve, spin the impeller wheel several times. It's under the valve inside the bottom hole where the valve came out.
Now here's the important step- Reset the fault! Power off/on the unit. If the light blinks when you turn it on, Press and hold the start button 4 seconds with the door open. Find the combination of off/on buttons to press to reset the machine in the user manual.
(Note: If the machine runs continuously as soon as you pressed on the power button, then you have water under the unit in the safety pan. Call Miele for help.) Now select the normal wash cycle close the door and start it. The drain motor always runs first. This verifies to the brain how much water is inside the machine when it starts filling. The drain pump runs for half a minute. If you hear it running with no drain check the drain hose especially if it's connected to a disposal. Clean the disposal.. If it's not running at all the light will go on again before filling, call Miele. If the machine fill up with fresh water, the drain works. Watch and listen when the light comes on. Is it filling or did it start circulating? Open the door, are the baskets are dripping wet? Then it filled and circulated. If the light comes on several miutes later then call Miele.

We had same problem with our ADP 5966. An engineer over the phone said he thought it was related to machine being unable to drain. I checked the drainage pipe connection to u-bend under sink, and sure enough, there was a major blockage. Cleared that and hey presto, problem solved.
