If you're brave you could take it apart and fix it yourself. I don't want to tell you how because i don't want to be held responsible for anything that happens, but it should be readily available online.

My zune won't turn on or charge, I accidentally washed it, and it was working for like 3 weeks after that, and then it just shut off I'm guessing it was because it was out of battery but my computer...

your motherboard must have fully dried and the chemicals from the wash got to it and fried the motherboard. or the battery mite have been fried and the same case applies the chemicals freid the cells. try to get it replaced and see if that fixes it if not then its your motherboard....try to get it replaced

Trying to plug in zune but computer won't recognize it.

You might need to reinstall the drivers, or update your USB port drivers.
A nice zune troubleshooting guide on this is available on fixing zune device errors.

Hope it helps.

Totally dead Zune!

It sounds like you guys might be suffering from the Infamous zune new year bug. Let your Zune completely die (leave it for a few days if you have to). After doing this plug it into a computer or wall out let to charge. Leave it to charge for at least an hour. Come back and unpluge the zune and reconnect it to a different usb port if possible. Let it continue to charge.

Letting it die should fix the freeze and swapping ports during the charge will help the computer detect the zune as when their batteries are 100% dead they do not have enough power to say that they are there.

Hopefully this will help out one or two of you.

Zune 30g brown STILL frozen on Logo

At this time, Microsoft still hasn't found a fix for it. They're having a lot of problems with the Zune 30 freezing up. Before you try to start a class action, at least give them some time to get you up & running again. They only found out about the problem on Tuesday. Starting a class action will only drive the prices up.

Zune froze on boot up this morning. Reset buttons won't work nor will any others. Tried charging battery to no avail.

There's a fix:

Your Zune will need a "hard reset."

To do this, use a small screwdriver to pop off the plastic shielding where the Zune cable plugs into and remove the two screws on either side of the plug. Next pop the cover off and locate the battery plug at the top left corner of the Zune, using your screw driver, pop the cable connection half way off, and do this to the other plug on the right side. Wait 3 seconds, then push down the right connector and then the left battery connector. Your Zune should start up immediately. Press the backing of the Zune down (make sure headphone jack is aligned) and put the screws and cover back in place.

It's an easy process but if you're unsure don't attempt it.

Blinking screen turning on and off

Mine does this if I let the battery get too low. In order to fix it I have to open the case, unplug the hard drive, plug the zune into my laptop and let the battery charge for a couple of minutes. I then turn it back off, plug in the HD again, replace the case, and plug it back into my laptop and it boots just fine.

I Imagine this means I have a weak battery (trying to spin the HD drops it below minimum voltage), but maybe this'll help someone else get up and running again.

My zune stopped working and now will not turn on

I figured out the solution by just getting upset.
Hold the Back arrow (<-) and Up on the touch pad and it will restart the Zune. This works for the 8gig and 80gig Zune.
