I just receive from IBM-HITACHI repaired Hard disk 60GB 7200rpm and the old
problem is again here.....
Very slow boot in bios,motherboarb try to recognize hard disk very slow...I
thought that defective hard was a problem but repaired hard(or new) show the
same
things......
Maybe some settings in bios can solve this problem but I dont know
which.....
My Maxtor work very fast...

you might have a the drive delay set in the bios...

(when drives started to get faster a few years ago.. the bios would run
through the post test before the drives had time to spin up...
So ther is often a setting in the bios now to wait for  so many seconds
(for the drive to be recognised) before it continues

look and see if you have such a setting and disable it and see what happens
