Called Kitchen aid and protested, frig was 4 years old at the time. door was almost $1200 to replace. Kitchen aid paid for new door and installation

There is trick to putting the ice bale arm back on unless the water cup where the water comes into freezer has the round opening broken that holds the bale arm Click Here=> 628356 Water Fill Cup

Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

there is two bolts oin the very front of the unit behind the kickplate the oiu can turn clock wise until there is a slight tile toward the back of the unit so that the cams on the doors will have a little bit of gravity to helop them stay shut.

Make sure the fan motor is running in the freezer.

Bottom line Steve, I'd place about 97% of my $$$ on the optics board.Change it ,it comes as 2 parts and is a daily issue and is simple to change out. This is the result of Technology making a step in the wrong direction ...........AGAIN !

I have the same problem on my GE model :
GTS18FBMERWW

It is a 18 cu ft, top freezer model.
