Question about Fisher Paykel EcoSmart GWL15

1 Answer

Our machine may have been out of balance. It shut down with a load of wash and full of water. I took out the load and drained most of the water by hand thinking it had too much weight in it. After unplugging, waiting and then plugging back in. I tried to get it to work. It did agitate as far as it sounded with the lid closed. and then when it go to the rinse part it would not drain the water or spin. No lights are blinking at all, it appears to be "normal". It buzzes for about 10 seconds, stops then buzzes again. the buzzing is as if it is trying to start the motor to spin. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Washer does not completely drain to allow for spin

The most common cause for standing water in a washer is a clogged drain pump. Another possibility is a kink or clogged drain tube. Below is a youtube video with instructions on removing a drain pump on most front load washers including your Frigidaire model. Best of luck and thank you for using Fixya!

Washer spins than it gets off balance and shuts

Hi, Washing machines can become unbalanced when the wash load has too much weight in one area of the basket. A machine in good working order can handle most problems through its balancing mechanisms. However, when washing heavy single items such as comforters, the machine's tub can become so lopsided that it damages the washer.

Washing machines that get unbalanced can shake, make banging noises, and even more across the floor. When machines are secured in one place, they can vibrate and bang so much the entire house shakes and things fall off shelves. This is not good for the washer. Bolts can come loose, and parts can break.

When washing heavy items such as pillows or down coats, stay near the washer so you can correct any balance problems as they occur. Some washers have an automatic shut-off feature when they become too far off-balance. If yours does not, stop the spin cycle, open the lid, and redistribute the load. If this is a continuing problem, you may want to wash heavy items at a coin-operated laundry in a heavy-duty machine.

Take care

Water is draining but doesn't drain the lower basin. shows ob, sl, or ld on readout. Have to unhook drain hose - let it drain then it will usually start working properly.. when the basin is full and it...

Hi There
I'm giving you the coeds that you need. So i hope this helps you and let me know how it goes.
Ld Long Drain Ld flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.
ob Off Balance If the motor controller detects an unrecoverable off-balance condition, the machine controller will shut down and display an ob for Off Balance

The lid switch must be opened at least once before restarting the cycle, if this condition occurs. Opening the lid will allow the customer to view and redistribute the load.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display. S Lid Switch Error The control should flash this error code if it cannot detect the lid switch opening and closing properly. This error code may also be used if there is a disagreement between the motor and machine controllers on the stat if the lid switch. The control should not allow the unit to run in this condition.

This code will also appear if the user presses the START key while the lid is open.

Open the lid or press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.Thank you for writing to fix ya.
Best Regards Richard

My front load wash machine is full of water. i try to drain and spin. it just shuts back off.

First thing i would recommend, is lower pipe and drain water out of unit.Get to the point where you can eventually remove drain pump from unit as im sure it is blocked. (Microprocessor is confused by the still full signal and is instructed to shut down) Once completed, if you have a reset fascility on your unit, reset it. If not retest by starting wash cycle from the beginning. Please let me know if not the answere. .

Washer was jumping and banging like out of balance and i shut it off when i put it on drain and spin cycle it fill with water

Let it go thru a cycle. If it is a front loader, use full loads. Light loads don't spread around enough to balance.

Draining neptune washer

The sloshing sounds you hear are supposed to be there. Actually, it was there when you first purchased the washer and had never used it before. It's part of the balance system. When the machine goes into high speed spin, the balance system kicks in. The water portion of it is forced outward by centrifugal force. Now when the machine slows down and stops, the water settles back down so that when you reach in and turn the drum by hand, you can hear it sloshing about.

Hope this helps,
SG

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SW1: Won't drain

The washer drew half a tub of water on the "Bulky items" cycle, and stopped. All the lights on the cycle dial light up and flash, the machine beeps and the me error message in the "estimated time remaining" field is "Ld". I've tried to shut the machine down and change the cycle to "drain and spin" but it will not agitate, won't drain or spin.

GWL10 US won't finish cycle

Hi Mate, I had the same problem and then looked on the web to find that all I need was a $40 out of balance switch. Although the old one looked ok it had corrosion inside, bought a new switch and installed it myself, easy, ask the F&P parts supplier if you are not sure.
Cheers,
Dan
