Question about Samsung YP-K3 MP3 Player

1 Answer

White Screen?? My Samsung MP3 Player has a white screen!? I've tried everything and it won't go back to normal. I can listen to my songs and all, because I have it memorized where, and when to click to listen to it. But, I would much rather have it as normal, and nonwhite screen. The story, which I don't see what made it do it, is this: I left my MP3 Player in my car for about a week during the winter. Maybe the cold had to do with something?? Or maybe the rattling in the door pocket of the car messed it up?? Well, please, someone help me with a solution to fix this!? Please, and an early Thanks!

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

I have/had similar problem. After upgrading from 1.06 to 2.02 (everything was OK), I tried to upgrade from 2.02 to 3.00 (from official website), but I got white screen after 99% completed. I could hear the music playing, but display was white.
After this i tried formatting player but display was white again. Then I formated it in NTFS and that was the end. Even PC can't recognize it now. :(
Crappy Samsung and all their products.

My mp3 player is stuck on a white screen

Really hot = probably dead - not normal

Reset the player first.
The run the Repair function in the Philips device manager - if these two methods do not fix the player, then I am afraid it is toast.

White screen, have to do a soft restart and then words show up

I have had a problem similar to this recently though my ipod is always white. The white screen error or otherwise known as "white screen of death" is caused by the lcd color screen on the ipod itself. That is why its functions still work but the screen does not. Once you replace the color screen it will be as good as new.

Stuck in language mode

Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

5.Go to My computer
6.Find a Icon named 16Mb Format
7.Open that and make a new text file
