Blue Screen of Death!... Video Controller ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9200

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if the problem i am facing
right now had happen to anyone of you.

Everything was ok in my Compaq Presario X1000
Till i decide to give a clean and fresh reinstalation
of Windows XP Pro SP2.

I save all the drivers and controllers of everything.
then after the reinstalation i install all the drivers
and everything was fine at that point till i install
the VGA driver :-(

Now everytime i boot the laptop i get the Blue Screen of Death!
I can't even take a close look to the "STOP 0x000000A?" error message
cus this happend too fast and not even pressing the Ctrl+Break don't let
me see the error message code.

But i even if i have the code there is not much i can do with it.

After the Blue Screen of Death, the laptop keep doing that over and over
again, the only way i can by pass that Blue Screen error, is by entering
in Save Mode and uninstalling the "ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9200" Driver.

But i don't get it, this is the driver i always been with the laptop.

I have tried so many ways to fix this issue but nothing seen to work.
i look everywhere for the driver update, but nothing.

Any suggestion or any help are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

With the ATI Moblity Radeon 9200 and 8500, i get this error msg

    Severe

    INF Error
    Video driver not found.
    ====================

    Severe

I need vista vga driver for my compaq evo n1000v notebook

Hi there.
Your graphics controllers are supplied by ATI and is Radeon IGP-340M (RS200M)
Unfortunately there is no Vista driver available for that HP laptop, even ATI don't supply a Vista driver for that model, it only has support for XP.

Thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Presario X1000 has 3 different ATI graphics boards they use.
Two are 32mb and one is 64mb.

ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9200 w/64-MB memory 336970-001
ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9200 w/ 32-MB memory 336969-001
ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500 w/ 32-MB memory 336968-001

I have on PDF the service repair manual, I can e-mail it to you or you could try to google it.

Hp pavilion 6511 video card

It looks like you will be able to purchase just the ATI video controller for this machine - the part number for your machine is :-

P/N: 336970-001
DESC: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9200 (M9+P) graphics controller - With 64Mb of double data rate (DDR) SDRAM memory

I would still recommend getting this machine opened up and double checking the part number etc as they do occasionally revise parts that aren't 100% interchangeable.
