Takeout the powercord at the back of the monitor and wait 5m.
Put it back.
This fixed it for me.

Browser windows angrily want a percentage of my big, new monitor

you need to go to the properties of your display settings of the pc. your window size is dependent on your graphics card not the monitor. right click you desktop. goto properties. got to settings. change your resoluton. if you have a better than stock graphics card go to the software that came with the card and change the settings ther.

Screen Display

put your mouse out in the middle of the screen. right click. go to properties. go to settings and slide the res slidebar up to the max.
also, click on start, and with your mouse just on the boarder right click and go to properties, put a check in the box that says hide toolbar.

Yesterday, a white line appeared in the middle of my screen.

It is most likely a fault in the LCD matrix which makes up the screen. I had one on my 22 inch and it was green. I smacked the left side hard on which it was closest to very hard and it cleared it. If it stays on, take it back if under warranty.

Volume pop up in the middle of my screen

no photos of said window presented? i cant see them?
must be OSD? the monitor brain on screen display (menu)?
even with the DVI cable pulled?
only a monitor stated, w1907, no PC
some monitors have button lock
read the manual ?oops HP deleted it...
it tells you to push the menu key on the monitor for 10 seconds
and it unlocks. (4 buttons right side left button is MENU)
doom?
that power deal sounds super bad, like the power supply is bad.
if the monitor fails by its self not plugged it to a PC
then the monitors is bad.
try a reset on it? ( power off for 1hr, or off then plug in with power button held? or power on with menu held (wild guesses but common practice)
ok found your manual page 4-8 shows menu page advanced
list line in list factory reset.
but if the keys are dead, and power lamp failing
the power supply is no good or worse. worse is always possible.
and expensive

ever see the support page, read the guides

its over 10 years old now. 2007?
walmart has larger one for $50
cheaper that parts or repair this.... vastly

Windows XP not fitting full on 22 inch computer screen

Your new monitor will show a "native resolution". In the instructions below, try that setting first. If that fails try other settings.

- Right-click on an empty spot on your desktop
- Chose "Properties" on the menu that appears
- Click the "Settings" tab (at the top right)
- Move the "screen resolution" slider to a different number
- Click "apply"
- See how you like it
- Repeat until you get a setting you like.
