Nailer scn40r is an oil less coil roofing nailer. If it will not fire and leaks out head then most likely problem is diaphragm torn or pinhole. Replace firing valve part # BAO120 for good as new operation.

My senco sfn1 will not fire a nail not enough air?

Sfn1 is an oilless nailer. It needs about 100psi for full power. If oil has been used in the gun or if oil is leaking out of compessor and making its way into the gun, the rubber firing valve could swell preventing it from working correctly. The firing valve sits on top of cylinder (black plastic). If the driver is bent or piston fits too tight in the cylinder you will have similar problem. The piston/driver should move easily down cylinder (but not slip down under its own weight). Finally, the nail will not be driven all the way in if the tip if the driver has broken off. Good luck with your repair.

Stapler leaks ouy of top

Try oiling it first. If it still leaks I would check the seal (reference #11) on this parts diagram.

My senco 1/4" crown air stapler would not drive a staple & now leaks air constantly

It sounds like you have broken or damaged o-rings inside the gun and the only repair is to replace them. Senco does make kits to rebuild most of their guns. Go to and click on 'Parts Charts' at the top of the page then find your model. The PARTS GUIDE will list a rebuild kit if one is available. The part number will start with YK followed by four numbers. If there isn't a rebuild kit available for your gun, you'll have to order each o-ring seperately. All o-ring part numbers start with LB.

Senco sns40 stapler replaced all o rings still leaks air. Even seals in trigger assembly. Leaks out the exhaust port.

Air leaking thru exhaust on sns40 gun is indication of pinhole in rubber diaphragm of firing valve (part #BA0120). This gun is oil-less type and will develope leaks if oil is used. Most likely need to replace firing valve to restore to working order. Parts are at Good luck

Senco sn901xo is leaking air out the top on the nailer.

This is a sign that internal components are sticking. Try spraying a light weight oil like wd 40 down the air inlet and dry firing the gun several times. If that does not work, pop off the top of the gun, that is your exhaust port. Clean the area with contact cleaner, and lube with air tool oil.

Finish Pro 32 is Leaking air out of the exhaust cap

You have worn or broked o-rings/seals inside the gun. The Finish Pro 32 is one of Senco's older guns and they no longer offer a repair kit for this gun. You have to go to a site like or, find a breakdown of your gun and order each part you need. If you are going to rebuild the gun order all the o-rings/seals (Senco parts that start with LB) and any other parts that may be damaged like the piston stop, springs, etc. Lubricate the o-rings with light grease as you put them in and make sure to oil the gun regularly when you are using it to make your work last.

Clean the track and piston by removing nail tray (there are a couple of allen screws)and removing the gunk from the nail tape and if you have been shooting something glued that to. Remove head assembly and thoroughly clean and oil that also. that should fix you right up I have a couple of these guns and that is typical.
If that is no the problem rebuild the gun it is worth it as they are a great air gun
Hope this helped

yes, squirt oil in the tool 2 times daily depending on use. do not oil the nails/pawl area, it only collects dirt. About 6 drops in the air fitting should be fine.

Trigger is frozen gun will not fire

I have worked on many senco finish nailers including the sfn2 and have found them to be very reliable except when the wrong type of oil or too much is introduced into the gun. Some oils can swell the orings and cause the problem that you are having. No worries however, orings are available at as well as parts list. An oring kit costs less per oring. You must remove the head to access trigger parts. Part # LB5005 (firing valve) is the part that fails the most on your gun but failure of this part leaks air out of top. You should keep a spare firing valve just in case. Enjoy
