I have deep rust appearing around the bleach port. machine is only one year old. WHY is it rusting ?????

Samsung does not recommend the use of chlorine bleach in this machine. The bleach port is intended for color-safe bleach only. Chlorine bleach is an oxidizer that will accelerate the corrosion process of the drum, which is what you are probably seeing. The users guide for your machine states specifically that you SHOULD NOT put liquid chlorine bleach into the bleach port.

Which compartment for bleach?

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you want to know which opening in the dispenser is for bleach on your Electrolux washer, model# EIFLW55I. The compartment where you will put bleach will be labeled "Liquid Bleach", and will also have a symbol of a triangle with the letters "CL" inside of it. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

How do I get the bleach dispenser to drain?

Hello Denise C - There are several things that could cause the bleach to not dispense into the washer. Are you sure the liquid in the dispenser after the wash is bleach? If it is pure bleach, the solenoid that lets the water into the dispenser is not working. This solenoid is located on the back of the dispenser. It only gets voltage during the dispense time and fills the bleach dispenser with water. The bleach dispenser fills while the washer is filling for the rinse cycle.

When the washer begins to fill for the rinse cycle, the bleach solenoid is energized and water flows into the bleach dispenser cup. When the cup is full the water siphons out and bleach and water flow into the tub.

If the liquid in the bleach dispenser is pure bleach you may need a technician to diagnose and repair the problem. The voltage will have to be tested to the bleach solenoid and a volt meter is required.

If the liquid in the bleach dispenser is water you probably need to clean the dispenser cup. Scum will build up in the siphon tube and stop the liquid from going into the washer tub. The incoming water will dilute the bleach and overflow the dispenser cup and run into the tub.

Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softener compartments. Clean the bottom of the insert and the bleach and fabric softener compartments. Reinstall the insert and put the drawer back inside the washer.

To test the siphon action slowly pour water into the bleach compartment. When the water level goes above the maximum line stop pouring. The water should all drain out. You may also test the fabric softener compartment the same way.

I do hope this information proves to be helpful.

Maytag bravos washer- bleach compartment wont drain during wash cycle

The solenoid that turns on to dispense the bleach is bad, or you have a clogged tube that goes from bleach dispenser to tub.

Where do you pour bleach

The detergent dispenser draw where you put in the detergent has 3 sections. The compartment on the far right is for soaking agents. The compartment on the far left is for wash and stain removers (like bleach). The middle compartment is for fabric softeners, fabric conditioners.

I dont know were to place the bleach at in this machines

Hi.
There should be three compartments in the dispenser, you would normally put the bleach in to the
main compartment of the dispenser where you put the normal wash powder
This is the largest of the 3 compartments, and is usually in the middle, but sometimes on the right, but it is the largest of the 3,

Bleach compartment?

You normally use bleach to clean your washer. I have a washer nearly 15 years, never once put bleach, even for cleaning. Never cleaned it either, except dusting the exterior. I use powders for frontloaders. They seldom make these washers today, non-electronic. What they do today is make one to last about 2 years, then make you junk it & go for another - same story. Keeps their factories running........at your time & expense. Funny is'nt it, but absolutely true.

Any detergent that says "Automatic" should be OK.

Pretty much any softener should be OK.

You will usually find a drawer on the front panel of the machine, just under the top edge, typically on the left hand side.

If you open this drawer, you will find it is divided into a number of (typically four) compartments. There will be one or two large compartments for detergent and one or two smaller, usually partially covered, compartments for bleach and conditioner.

You need to identify which is which.

Starting with detergent: If you only have one large compartment, that's the one to use.

If there are two, you need to know which is for main wash and which is for prewash. If one is bigger than the other, use the big one for your main detergent load. If using a cycle that does a prewash, put detergent in the smaller compartment as well.

If they're both the same, you need to experiment: Select a wash cycle that doesn't do prewash. Turn the machine on, and when it starts to fill, cautiously open the drawer a little and look to see which compartment has the fill water running through it. That's the one you need to use for your main wash detergent (use the other as well on cycles that do a prewash).

Now look at the smaller compartments. Hopefully, they'll be marked with a triangle for the bleach and something looking like a flower for the conditioner. If not, put a little bit of conditioner into the bottom of each, set the machine to "final rinse" and see which compartment it takes the conditioner from. That's the one you use for conditioner in future. (Don't worry about the little bit of conditioner you've put in the bleach tray - this will rinse out the first time you run a full cycle).

When putting in bleach or conditioner, it's important not to overfill. If there's a fill level line, don't go above that. If the compartment is covered with a grating then fill no further than the grating. Overfilling will cause the product to go into the machine too early in the cycle.

(Finally, strongly advise against posting your phone number or personal email address on public internet sites - it attracts all sorts of undesirable attention)

Good luck - and enjoy your new machine.

Detergent dispenser

As far as I am aware, there IS NO dispenser for bleach, you have to put bleach in drum before adding clothes and starting cycle. The far right compartment is only for "pre-wash" cycles, and if no pre-wash is selected, water will run through ALL compartments at the rinse stage..... Oshie

Bleach drains from compartment as soon as it is filled

Could you be putting too much bleach in? These things are usually designed to be self siphoning once the dispenser is full enough. The idea is that you half-fill it with bleach. At the right point in the cycle, the machine starts adding water, filling the dispenser up to the point where it siphons out until empty. If you overfill at the outset, the thing will empty straight away. If you're sure that isn't the cause, then take the dispenser out and check that the dam that keeps the bleach in place to start with isn't damaged (you may need to take a cover off the back of the dispenser first to see this).
