Question about Magic Chef 9522 Electric Double Oven

Open Question

I have an Electric Magic Chef double oven self-cleaning mod #A973. The upper oven will not control on any setting after it is turned on. You can set at a high temp for a few minutes and then turn it back down lower and it will not cycle, but instead continues to get hotter and hotter. I'm thinking it is probably the control for the upper oven, but I am going to test the heating element to see if it is grounded. If it is controlled through one side of the 220, then the other side of the AC could be returning through the grounded heater uncontrolled--isn't that correct?

As for the temp adjust it is best if you get an repair man out to do that.

If your oven is gas, like it says up top, then your ignitor is bad...

Hi, most likely that Power outage has damaged the main controller board, it is not so much the outage as the reconnection of the power after an outage, you see when this occurs, when the power is restored usually everything is still ON, then when reconnected, the "Inrush" current can be enormous, and it damages the sensitive electronics, frequently.
Most likely the controller and or the thermostat has failed, another candidate is the thermistor temperature sensor.
To effect a repair one MUST obtain a service manual, this has all the circuits and troubleshooting steps and parts numbers too, it is a must have. They can be obtained from the manufactures website below.

Whenever there is an outage one must race around and turn off, and withdraw every power point and appliance to stop this from occurring. reconnect and turn them back on when all is well again.

This may indeed be a job for a professional, in this case please contact magic Chef, and ask for a referral to an authorised repairer, when they call ask for a 'Quote" for the repair, before allowing any repair work to be done.

Self cleaned a magic chef, now receiving an f1 code. the oven won't turn on. the clock works, and the stove works

This is the classic F1 error which is usually caused by a component failure in the control board. We repair a lot of this type of controller and would be happy to have a look at it for you if you can have the controller removed and sent to us.

Oven wont heat

That depends if the oven is electric or gas.

If it is electric, it can be heating element, temp probe, or control knob/buttons, board and wiring.

If it is gas it can be the igniter (check spark) , the thermostat, the safety valve that prevents accidental gas flow, or the control.

If the oven has self cleaning cycle, check that it is not stuck on self cleaning, try unplugging for a while and restarting self cleaning cycle in that case.

I have a majic chef oven, when i turn it on it beeps and flashes

Self clean on some older models can cause some issues. F-3 is a sensor error. This could have been damaged by high heat or in some cases if the sensor is ok, the control doesn't know it's there.

MAJIC CHEF DOUBLE OVEN NOT WORKING

I just had a model 976-4CX put in...I have no manual...I'm trying to find one. I thought I had a problem with the element, dial or thermostat. The bottom worked, but the top stopped working. There are 2 timers with dials next to the clock labeled Start and Stop, and Push for Manual. Come to find out my problem was solved by adjusting the Start and Stop dials and/or pushing in for manual!?!
If I had a manual I'd know how these timers worked.

Missing my manual

I suggest you read this link before you use the self clean cycle. http://www.fixya.com/support/t241114-oven_will_not_heat#SameProblemContinued
I used mine for the first time two days ago on model KEBC147 and it will not heat now.
You might not want to try self-clean unless you have time to call for repair afterwards before
using your oven again.

Very disappointed in KitchenAid in Texas ...

How to remove the control panel on Whirlpool double oven Model RBD305PDS14

Remove the doors by turning toward you a little toggle apparatus located on each hinge. Locate a small screw on the lower inside edge of the left and right hand trim and then slide off the trim. Remove the lower trim then raise the upper trip and put the left end of the panel inside the top opening. This allows you access to the control panel. Test both the keypad part #8300440 and the control panel part #830219 to see which one needs to be replaced. Order the replacement part, plug it in, reverse the precess above and it should work like new..
