Question about Sharp R-1492 Microwave Oven

1 Answer

Something blew inside. Once you try to heat something, it does not get warm ar all. The normal sound when working is gone and now there's a much stronger buzzing sound. When pressing the popcorn button, it starts out normal, but after 15 seconds or so, that same loud buzzing sound comes on and no heat. Microwave is 10.5 years old.

WHAT WILL MAKE MY GE MICROWAVE WES1384SM2SS FUSE KEEP BLOWING I REPLACED IT ONCE AND AS SOON AS I OPEN THE DOOR IT BLEW AGAIN

The fuse is there to protect your home in case something has gone wrong inside your microwave. Since the fuse has blown twice, you can safely assume that there is something wrong inside. It may be fixable, it may not be economic to fix it. Impossible to troubleshoot electronics without the unit and test equipment.

Coffee spilled microwave while heating now microwave is dead it is a general spacemaker what can I do

Wow, generally a spill in a microwave shouldn't be catastrophic, but if it blew the wall plug, something bad happened. What do you mean it blew the plug? Did it simply trip a GFI? a breaker? Either way something must be amiss inside. Best case is a blown fuse in the microwave. You can look inside for evidence of a short but follow all safety practices and ensure the unit is depowered and steer clear of the big capacitor as it could still be charged.

My Kenmore elite built in microwave oven model 790 488 03100 has stoppped heating what can i do

It may be a bad fuse or capicitor. I have had a time in the past with something similar. I contacted Repair Clinic.com. They were very helpful with their advice and even followed up to make sure I got things fixed okay.

Why is my GE Advantium SCA2001 blowing the main fuse?

Yeah pal, you've not gone deep enough yet. You'll find a power wire bare inside the unit, pull it apart and tape that wire up to stop it from grounding out and blowing the fuse.

OK, so our microwave stopped working. All the electronic parts are working (lights, timer, turntable, etc...) however the microwaves aren't being produced (nothing ever warms up inside.) This was...

the problem could be with 2 component. The diode or the magnetron. normally when the diode goes bad, the microwave will make a humming sound. The microwave will tend to sound almost normal when its the magnetron. Or sometimes it will make a sparking noise when put to heat.

Microwave lights up plate turns something hums inside but the inside of the microwave never produces heat.

Sounds pretty normal but the inside is not supposed to get hot - only the food is.

Try heating a half glass of water for 1 minute if it gets hot... its working - if not then the actual microwave generating device inside has probably died.
In that case buy a new microwave oven as the cost of parts and labour to repair is usually more than cost of buying a new one.,

Microwave will not heat food.

Sometimes inside the machine there is a fuse for this, if you can remove the outer case you should be able to see it, HOWEVER let me tell you that i have been in this position and have replaced the fuse and the machine then works only to die again, once this happens it is usally a sign that either the tube or a transformer is gone and it normally isnt worth getting fixed.

Motor sounds louder than normal. food won't heat up.

This sound like the Magnatron (this warms the food) has gone out and needs replaced! To be honest with you ,unless you can do this repair yourself it might be cheaper to buy a new oven
I hope I was of help!
