Howdy there! it is possible that the ink is clogged. take a cottonball and dab it is alcohol and then apply it to the black ink cartridge. If this is not working, also clean the printer well where the ink goes into the printer. if still a challenge, you can check to make sure the black is turned onto full color black. From file menu, click print, then advanced, make sure that everyday printing is welected, then choose the color tab and make sure that grayscale is not selected, if so, click on color and black. please let me know if this does not work, pleasure to assist tonight..... Does the toner also smear where it is faded? If so it means that your fuser is dying, and in which case might be just a cheap to get a new printer than fix that one. The fuser is the part of the machine that helps bond the toner to the paper.

After you click print, and just before you print, go to your 'printing preferences' or 'print settings' in the popup window. From there, cycle through the tabs, and ensure that 'print quality' is NOT at draft and IS on normal or high quality. Alternatively, you change the 'print resolution' in this window, if the option is available. Resolution is usually given in 'dpi' so choose the highest 'dpi' value. This should hopefully give you darker prints

I have the Dell 1320C and everytime i print there is a blue line that goes from top to bottom on the left side of the page. how do i fix?

replacement of the drum would be required. You could first check to see if you have anything stuck to or jammed between the drum roller and the rest of the unit.

My Dell 1320c Colour Laser Printer prints black as grey. How can I get it to print black?

If you have an extra black toner cartridge, try installing that and see if it fixes the problem. If it doesn't make sure Toner Save Mode is off (in the print driver, under Preferences). If your copies still come out gray instead of black, you may need to replace the Print Head Unit (PHD).

Dell Color Laser 1320c printer. The left side of page prints lighter than rest of page - color faded or lighter

Hi,
I also had this problem with faded print down the left hand side. I decided to strip the printer down. I had to completely remove the laser imaging unit which meant removing all the covers and a couple of circuit boards. I then cleaned the lenses/mirrors inside the open front and laser head (behind a flap with laser warning sticker) with compressed air. This cured the problem but took a couple of hours. I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you are reasonable competent with electro mechanical devices.
Having seen the laser imaging unit out of the printer, it seems a real shame that it wasn't manufactured to be air/toner tight as this could have been achieved at a small cost.
I hope this is helpful ;)

Black toner replaced; now all black printing comes out faded grey

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink or toner cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridges that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks or toner causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead or photo conductors.
If you are using factory new ink or toner cartridges, then please call the manufacturer’s Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

You should contact Dell about returning these for a replacement, it sounds to me like a manufacturer's error.
