You can't get the outer ring gear by itself. you gonna have to get the whole impact assy.

Why does my gearbox grate from first to second

The 1---2 synchro ring is worn. You can cheat without buying parts by taking the 4th gear synchro ring and swap it with the 1---2 synchro ring.

How to make the Spinmaster Air Hogs Moto Frenzy R/c Stunt Bike work.

If the bike isnt working properly, like short driving time and wobbly steering. lay it on the side with the screws pointing up, unscrew the 4 philips screws, the body is glued together so be careful, with a small flat screwdriver or a knife, bend the body apart along the crack going through the middle. Be extra careful in the lower front part because this is were the battery is placed. When the body halfes are separated, lay the half containing the elecronics and motors so you can axess the parts. Remove all dust and hair and othe forein matters. Take the rear wheel off and slide the tire off. With a small screwdriver press the three locking notches that holds the wheel togeather and separate the halfes. put a small amount of lubrication oil (thin oil) on the gyro axel inside the wheel and on the drive gear and spinn the gyro wheel so the oil gets in to the "bearings".Press the drive gear so it sits tighter towards the wheel (not too tight, it has to spin freely. Put the other half of the rear wheel back and spin the gyro wheel with your fingers as fast as you can. it should balance itself on a flat surface for atleast 5 - 10 seconds. if not put some more oil on the shaft, and try again. When finished dry of excessive oil and put the tire back. Take the dual gear that's in front of the rear wheel off. there is a small shim between this gear and the one that's still on the shaft. put some oil on the shaft and spin the shim and remaining gear so the oil lubricates the movement. put the dual gear back.Remove the wheelie gear ( the one with a stick lying under the bike) put a drop of oil on the gear axel that's underneath the wheelie gear. Spin all the gears so the oil can get inside and then remove the excessive oil with a tissue or something like that. The wheelie gear has a spring mounted on the backside, be sure to get this back right (the small ring of the spring shoul fit on a plastic pin in the body and the bigger ring on the cnter of the wheelie gear), and then put the wheelie gear back so it sits centered and conected to the second gear.Put the rear wheel back.Take the other body half and put a drop of oil on the gear shaft thats still in there, spin the gear etc.Put the halfes togeaher, be careful so you get all the axels and pins right and no wires between the halfes. squeese the halfes togeather and screw the 4 philips screws back. Put the driver back and charge the battery. Try it!!!

Why does my starter spin on my 2004 heritage softail but wont engage the pinion on the flywheel? Had the primary off - the pinion moves out a little then goes back in. Any help would be good......

You will always want to be sure that you have a fully charged battery and a good starter ground. These are easy to check. You can check the ground by running a surrogate ground cable from the battery ground to the starter case. You can do somewhat of a battery draw test by turning on all accessories, high beam signals and trying the horn and watching to see if the lights dim greatly or the horn is weak. A voltage drop test is also a good way to test for voltage getting through the solenoid to the starter and to check for a good or bad starter ground. If the pinion goes out a little and then drops back in it sounds like the pull in AND hold in windings are not doing their job properly. An early check would be the solenoid and contacts under the end cap of the solenoid, visually or by voltage drop testing.

If the pinion moves out somewhat but not fully you could have a bent starter shaft or corrosion on the shaft/dry, or the ring gear or the starter drive gear could be damaged. Also check to be sure that the ring gear is not dislodged from its proper position on the clutch hub and cocked to one side a bit/misaligned. It is also quite possible that the solenoid is defective. If the contactor plate is badly burnt or corroded there may be enough current to partially pull the solenoid in. It is also possible that the pull in windings are bad, ie shorted to ground early so only a portion of the windings are magnetizing and pulling the solenoid in. As the pull in and hold in windings ground through the starter field windings there could also be a problem in the starter windings, brushes.

I would start in the primary if you already have that off/apart. You could look and also, it not being too much to loosen the clutch hub and move it out away from the starter drive if you think it might be hanging up and the ring gear, you could loosen the clutch hub, move it away somewhat from the starter drive and then see if it comes out all the way. This should indicate if the drive is hanging up on the ring gear or if the drive is possibly hanging up on the starter shaft itself.

Next, if it is not hanging up there you could pull the end cap off of the solenoid and check the disc and contacts for corrosion and/or burning. Voltage drop test could already have diagnosed this part for you.

The next step would be to take the starter off the bike and bench check it for remaining possible problems.

How to place the main bearing shaft support back into Muncie 4 speed transmission

Here's what Chilton has to say on assembling the main shaft.
1.assemble 2nd gear, from rear of main shaft, with hub toward rear.
2.Install 1-2 synchronizer ring , with clutch taper to rear, together with a blocker ring on each side so their keyways line up with the clutch keys. Some units will have a snap ring to go on now or some units will have a 1st gear spacer sleeve to go on.
3. Install 1st gear with hub toward front and 1st gear thrust washer.
4.Press rear main bearing onto shaft being sure to seat it firmly. The diagram shows a piece of 1 and 5/8 ID pipe used to do this.
5. Install correct snap ring in groove on mainshaft behind rear bearing. Max gap between snap ring and rear face of bearing is 0"-.005".
6.Install 3rd gear, hub to front, and synchronizing ring, notches to front.
7. Install 3-4 clutch assembly with taper and hub to front. Make sure keys in hub correspond to notches in 3rd gear synchronizer.
8.Install snap ring on mainshaft with ends of snap ring behind spline teeth.
9.Install rear bearing retainer. Spread snap ring in plate to allow plate to drop around main bearing and press on end of mainshaft until snap ring engages groove on bearing.
10. Install reverse gear with collar to rear.
11. Press speedometer gear drive on mainshaft. From the inside face of the speedometer drive to the inside face of the rear bearing retainer should be 4 and 5/16".

Toro timecutter starter

I think this is going to be like an automotive starter.
You will need to check 3 things.
The ring gear where the starter gear cranks the engine, the starter gear that engages the ring gear, and the overrunning clutch or bendix , which is the springy part that kicks the drive gear into the ring gear.
When you remove the starter from the engine, you will see the drive gear on the end of the starter that was inside the motor.
The drive gear is about the diameter of a half dollar or a silver dollar. it should not be chewed up, it should look like a good gear. Inside the place where the starter attaches, you should see a ring gear, with a flashlight, and those teeth should look good and not chewed up.
On the starter you removed, behind the drive gear and usually inside the starter is the bendix or overrunning clutch , which will push the drive gear into the ring gear when you crank the starter. These parts often fail every few years.
Some people fix them, most people replace the whole starter.
Be blessed.

Ring gear spins freely in both directions when starter is remove

Very unlikely that ring gear has separated from clutch. If this model has clutch dogs on ring gear ( ring gear not permanently fixed to housing) then one or all of the tension springs have weakened and don't allow ring gear to lock in one direction.

I have same problem. I turn on the camera you hear it trying to come on, shows display pic for like 3 seconds and then shuts down. If I could get the lens to retract I am sure the camera would work.
