Question about Computers & Internet

2 Answers

I have a hp a6537c intel 2 core duo Processor e7200 (I have loved my computer!!) But now I have a problem. I was online with no problems when my curser locked up, I waited 3 or 4 minutes and it was still froze up. I turned the computer off manually. Booted it back up and moniter said NO INPUT SIGNAL, the moniter is on but no video. I then shut it down again & then unpluged (power off) for 30 seconds. Booted up & my desktop came on ....but the curser was still frozen! Turned off and on again several times and then noticed that my key board stoped working. I checked all cables, cleaned inside for dust, took battery out to reset, the wire to the key board can be wiggled and the lights will come on for a second or two. Im so worried I have lost all my pictures and music. Please advise me on what to do next. Of coarse im worried it is going to cost alot of money to get it fixed. thanks

Yippers does not sound good. Here is the deal: data loss. Before anything else, extract the HD and hook it up to a good computer via usb, and take all data.

Then you have options, but consider replacement as it only takes a major part or two to have an old computer, but paid 2/3 of the cost of a new machine, and still have an old machine.

In business there is no question as a man is out of work with no machine, home users slightly more tolerant, but not for long...

Don't worry, there are a few solutions to your problem.
It could be a simple fault with the keyboard that causing the problem. Try replacing the keyboard first.
If the computer had died, then remove the hard disk and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and plug it into the USB port of a working computer. This computer will see this as an external storage device. You can then open the various folders on this device (hard drive) and copy your precious pictures and music.

There is only one real player for web bowsers. Adobe.com. You may have another problem if this does not work.

The best all around free player is VLC

My system randomly shut downs sometimes, my core temp is some times reading 90,95

This is very high, 70 to 75 seems the safest temp.
I would remove the HSF, clean the cpu. and refit the HSF with new thermal paste.
If your not sure how, there are plenty of Youtube vids showing the fitting of CPU's

What is the best?

Hi!

Thats not easy to tell....its all about money. But i will recomend you 3 verry good cpu:s that is not to expensive and worth the money.

1: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3,0GHz Box
2: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3,16GHz Box
3: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2,5GHz Box

All of them are boxed, that means that you dont need to buy a separate fan

Good luck!

I would like to purchase a laptop. I'm confused about choosing a processor from intel dual core and core 2 duo. please help me choosing the processor

Intel Core 2 Duo is the latest laptop processor intel has made so it is newer than the original dual core. They have a few different cpu's so depending on your budget choose the core 2 duo with the fastest speed you can afford. Hope this helps & please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

No Microcode Update Loaded for Boot

It means the motherboard does not support that processor and you need to update the bios. You didn't say which Celcius you have, but the BIOS will have to come from Fujitsu.

No video signal

Always start with the merely obvious. Make sure all connectors are plugged in. make sure the monitor is on. Are you using more then one video card or just the onboard video. If you have another video card as an add on, hook up the monitor to that one (shut down the computer before you change connections)
