Question about Labtec LCS 1030 Computer Speakers

2 Answers

I had windows xp with working 1030 speakers. I could plug in headphones and it would work fine too... Recently I installed windows 7 (not upgraded, I reinstalled the system), and since I've been using windows 7 the speakers nor other sound device work.. I tried going in device manager to check for updates but it doesnt install the driver correctly, I also tried doing "scan fr hardware changes".. Also I tried manually downloading realtek ac97 driver and it didnt installed it properly, furthermore, the pc doesnt recognize any sound device plugged in.. Ive checked it's plugged in correctly and tried a few different spots but it doesnt recognize it

SOURCE: Labtec 285 Speaker System

I have the exact same problem, what i suggest is finding your manual, and CD to install (if u have one) because i remember this problem a while back when i first got it, but after i installed it was ok...if you dont have the manual or disk, you could look for an online instalation manual (which is what im doing right now)

SOURCE: installing Labtec LCS 800 speakers

1 wire goes between the 2 speakers
1 wire goes from the speaker with 2 jacks in it to the computer, the back of the computer should have a green port to plug in the cable to
1 wire is the power

this is a guess without seeing your setup

Try looking at the Packard Bell support site for drivers and downloads and see if there is a Window 7 audio driver for your model. If so download and install it.

HI I HAVE A DELL VOSTRO A860 AND I JUST INSTALLED WINDOWS 7 EVERYTHING IS WORKING FINE EXCEPT THE SOUND IVE DOWNLOADED VISTA DRIVERS REALTEK AND CONEXTEANT DRIVERS BUT I CANT SEEM TO GET THE SOUND TO WORK...

If you hear the sound on the headphones then the drivers installed correctly and the defect is either hardware - the jack for the headphones is stuck so the internal speakers are no longer activated when you unplug the headphones = the jack will have to be replaced by a shop - or software - you will have to go into the Realtek HD Control Panel and configure the audio outputs correctly = enable or unmute the internal speakers.
The Panel icon can be found in the notification area or in Start > Control Panel.

Microphone of Dell latitude D610 not working

The D610 has two audio jacks. The one closest to the monitor has a picture of a microphone above it, and the one closest to the user has a picture of headphones above it. Do you have your microphone plugged into the correct jack?

I have upgradded my Laptop operating system to

Use the ones for Windows Vista. Vista Drivers work for 7.

Now considering these speakers plug in via headphone jack you dont need drivers for your speakers. You should be looking for sound drivers for your laptop.
Plug in headphones see if they work if they do then there is no reason why your speakers should not.

Audio driver for windows 7 ultimate

Your Driver might be incompatible or incorrect driver. Check carefully, if you install it incorrectly, your PC could be at risk.

Since Windows 7 is a new operating System. Most Manufactures don't have the drivers of it. Talk to your Computer Adminstrator or contact one.

Windows 7 has recently released, so it's not recommend to upgrade it. You can rollback to Vista or XP with the System Restore if you wish.

You can also contact or email Microsoft for more info.
