SOny FD TRINITRON WEGA XBRKV-40XBR800....IT STARTS SOMETIMES AND THEN SHUTS OFF ALL THE SUDDEN. NOW IT WONT TURN ON BUT FOR A FEW SECONDS AND SHOWS RED LINES ON THE SCREEN AND THEN SHUTS OFF. LIGHT ON FACE OF TV IS BLINKING 7 TIMES (NEXT TO POWER BUTTON) THANKS, MARILYN

Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206. Might be of faulty IC. 1. Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.

Six blinks points to No Horizontal or raster. The uProcessor detects a problem and enters the self test function shutting down the main power supply.

The problem is on the 'A' circuit board. It is the IC504.Or, it is a low voltage drop or a short. Replace the "A" board. It is the front board on your right when you are at the rear of the set when you remove the cover. Look it up on the net. PS Don't touch the chassis while it is on...HIGH VOLTAGE !!!

there is a problem on the power supply section of your tv.try to check the regulators horizontal output,and bad capacitors.

Do a thing called self-diagnostics.....On the remote, press Display,then Channel,then 5, then the - on the volume, then power....hope this helps....

sounds like you have some cold solder or bad joints,power section, inspect it ,with the back off, but be carefull.........i had one that did that...bad connection in solder joint...had to resolder,if you have to resolder,make sure it is unpluged.hope this helped....

Likely to have two ic's bad....both are the same. Part number MCZ3001D. Located close to each other. Must be unsoldered and new put in. I have fixed several with this problem

You have the famous regulator problem, or the bad regulator problem, or the cold solder connectioin is on or around the flyback transformer.
