Here is how you determine your loaf size:

FILL YOUR PAN WITH WATER FROM A VESSEL THAT SHOWS HOW MANY CUPS YOU ARE ADDING OR JUST ADD ONE CUP AT A TIME WITH A ONE CUP MEASURING CUP ETC. ....COUNT YOUR CUPS as you fill........ WHEN FULL TO THE VERY TOP:

if your Pans capacity is less than 10 cups of water you can only bake a one pound loaf

If your Pan capacity is 10 cups then you can bake a one pound loaf or a 1.5 pound loaf

If your pan capacity is 12 cups to the top of the pan you can bake a 1, 1.5, or 2.0 pound loaf

If you pan capacity is 14 cups or more than you can go as high as a 2.5 pound loaf.
Please leave me a ranking so I can continue helping others with their bread machines! thanks!

### How many pounds is xl bread

an xl loaf would be determined by the amount of flour you use. a standard 2lb large loaf is made usingc 560gms (19.7ozs)flour. i make my loaves using 850gms (30ozs) flour. the end result is an xxl loaf. (i don't bake it in the bread pan. i have an extra large loaf tin. one thing to note, is when using more flour all the other ingrediants apart from the yeast need to be increased too . good luck.

### I need a recipe for White Bread

Hi greatdane,

Plz find below the recipe for White Bread:

Ingredients:
• 6 to 7 cups all-purpose flour
• 3 tablespoons sugar
• 1 tablespoon salt
• 2 tablespoons shortening
• 2 packages quick acting or active dry yeast
• 2 1/4 cups scalded milk cooled to about 120°
Preparation: Mix 3 1/2 cups of flour with sugar, salt, shortening and yeast in a large mixing bowl. Add very warm milk; beat for about 1 minute. Stir in enough of the remaining flour, a cup or so at a time, until dough is easy to handle. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead, adding more flour as necessary to keep it from sticking, until smooth and elastic, about 8 to 10 minutes. Place dough in a large buttered mixing bowl. Turn dough over so greased side is up. Cover with a clean dish towel and let rise in a warm place, out of drafts, for about 1 hour, or until doubled. When dough is touched, an indentation will remain. Punch dough down and divide into two equal portions. Flatten each half with hands or rolling pins into a rectangle about 18x10 inches. Starting at 10-inch edge, roll dough tightly; pinch long seam together. With sides of hands, press each end of loaf; fold ends under loaf. Place loaves, seam side down, in loaf pans (approximately 9 x 5 x 3-inch). Brush each loaf lightly with butter. Cover loosely with clean dish towels and let rise until double, about 35 to 50 minutes. Preheat oven to 425°. Bake loaves on a low rack, so tops of pans are at the center of the oven. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Bread will sound hollow when lightly tapped. Makes 2 loaves of white bread.

### I have had the Sunbeam breadmaker for about 6 months and love it. Lately however I have noticed that the loaf is collopsing leaving a large indent at the top. I tried making a smaller loaf thinking that...

### Loafs dot look right

Black and Decker bread machines need a little more water in the dough, about two tablespoons for a two lb loaf. If the loaf does not rise enough, cut back on the salt about 1/4 teaspoon at a time, no less than one teaspoon for 2 lbs or the bread will be all full of large bubbles.

### Breadman Breadmaker - the dough sticks to the beater leaving a large hole in bottom of loaf - up to 1/3 of bread loaf. How to stop this?

Hi...Just take the paddle out at the end of the kneading cycle and before the final rise. If your machine does not have a pause feature, take the pan out of the machine to be safe. Hank

### Way to high of loaf

Sounds like you may need to use a smaller quantity of all of the ingredients, or exchange for a machine that makes a large loaf. Well done, most people seem to have problems getting the loaf to rise enough!

### Single loaf- no instructions

I received the manual June 17 in PDF format from Applica, the successor company to Salton/Maxim.  E-mail me at stannie_holt2004@yahoo.com and I'll send it to you.  (It is a large file, 4.1 MB, so I don't think I can post it here.)
