What is the CPU speed before you change it ......there are a lot of guides for Overclocking isn't just a matter of changing some settings.....

the above a guide that might help ....

also read this article on your P4S533-MX

Remember overclocking is more of an art then anything else.....
Heat and power load increases are your biggest concerns

It is better to have an old computer to practice on then your every day user ....also some MB //processors are easier to OC then others....
It is all a matter of increasing this a little and see if it is stable then trying a little more
If it is running at say 2.2 then leave it there as 2.4 won't make a huge difference ...also update the MB at ASUS site with all the latest Drivers and such

Asus P4S533-MX Bios problem

The average life span of a cmos battery is about five years.
The Asus P4S533-MX mother board hit the market in 2002/2003. Suggest you pull the bios battery and check its current voltage. It should read 3 volts DC. Double check the bios jumper. The jumper should be across pins 1 and 2 (This is Normal default setting). Open you're manual to page 1-15 for more information about the bios jumper. (CLRTC1). When in the bios you should set the time and date to current date and time. Save and exit the bios. When you boot your system and the bios auto loads it's self automatically usually its due from a wrong setting within the bios or its not maintaining its voltage. Consider the price of a new battery. please check the system memory (RAM)
remove them and carefully clean in mouth with a clean A4 white sheet

or change the memory if possible...... and if problem still occur, please check the system processor too...
to check if the processor is functioning, remove the heat sink on the processor and boot the machine placing your finger on the processor chip.
it burns your finger after a short sec. BUT this should be done in a controlled way and after the memory had been tested for

ASUS P4S533-MX Motherboard

Does it have a built-in system beep buzzer? or else you need to connect one. The system beep has a code and will tell you if your video is not connected or your memory is not detected.
Try to make it boot even until the bios screen. Check your video card or your monitor connector. A single beep is a good sign that your motherboard has no problems. hope this helps
