Question about Cell Phones

2 Answers

The phone switched to WLAN only ans indicates "not allowed to dial". When you try to change the mode it gets stuck in "unfinished". A number of solutions have said enter a code. You cannot enter a code because you cannot dial (to enter the code),ie I have no idea how to enter a code. Any help would be appreciated.

It is not a very satisfying solution to have to rely taking the phone to the repair shop and pay someone else to fix the problem, especially since it came on by itself. Is there any solution I can use myself, so that if it happens again I am not stuck with "take it to the repair shop"?

The phone switched to "WLAN Only" on its own. It says "unfinished" when I try to change the mode. The SIM is fine (it works properly in other phones). I need a solution where I can work with the phone, I cannot afford to take it to the shop everytime something like this happens. Can you force the phone to reset to default settings somehow? It worked fine for 3 months.

Hello,

The way to solve the phone problem now from your statement is to take the phone do to a very good phone technician around your local area to flash/unluck the phone to be able to make use of the phone again WITH a computer soft ware

However what am saying here is that the phone need to be reformat ,then you will be able to make use of the phone.

Thank you for using fixya.

Please try this and let me know if it works.

  1. Change to flightmode.
  2. Then power off the device.
  3. Restart it and change to normal mode.
Also do a factory reset. The default passcode is 1122.

M001 Phone when trying to make a call it says : NOT ALLOWED DIAL"

This is for another similar clone marked with the "vaio" name but it might be useful to someone out there. I found that by following solution one above (thanks Mrfixit) to step 6 as below and then following the second part of what I found at http://chinamobiles.org/archive/index.php/t-16088.html worked for me. I reproduce the steps below:

1. make sure to have 2 sims in phone(do not use 3g sims) 2. make sure wlan is disabled 3. enter engineer mode (type in *#3646633# 4.scroll up not down to number 10 RF test tool 5.choose gsm touch ok verify ok touch power scan 6.select band dcs 1800 press ok phone will go to test looking for DES(frequencies) wait until phone crashes or seems inactive

BUT THEN

Connect your mobile via USB cable to a PC, DO NOT CONFIRM any connection mode at your mobile, just and ONLY connect the cable!!!

11. Press the Menu button (second from the left, the one with the seven small dots on it) until you are at the main menu with the 12 icons on the display.

12. Go to "Settings" --> "Network Setup" --> "SIM1 network setup"

13. Go to "Preferred mode" and choose "GSM preferred" or "GSM only"

14. The mobile will switch to your selection, but the message that it will stays on display. Do not press anything else, just wait for about 10 - 15 seconds.

15. Disconnect the USB cable from the phone, it will show you that it has switched to your selection.

16. Get back to main menu, switch off and restart the mobile --> DONE

I am unable to change connection Network Setup > SIM1 network setup > Preferred mode I am stuck in "WLAN only". When I select "GSM" or "GSM preferred". The phone states "mode switching" and then...

Guys I had the same problem with the k599 Sciphone and none of the solutions found on the internet helped me. New chinese models tend to restart after testing is over and this results in turning the wifi application on. So I spent many hours on thinking how to bypass this function and this morning I woke up with an idea that really worked!! The steps are quite similar with the ones followed to debug older models:

put 2 chips on cell
Disable WLAN.
1-enter in factory mode *#3646633#
2-go to RF Test Tool
3-choose GSM, confirm OK!
4-go to Power scan
5-Select Band DCS1800 click OK
6-the cell frozen
7-wait for 3 minutes testing
8-while testing connect to a pc using the USB cable (do NOT select ANY of the options appearing on the cell screen)
9-Click the CENTER button of the cell until you go back to principal menu
10-go to settings/network settings and choose GSM Preferred or any other option (except WLAN only!!)

In this way the cell does not reboot, and the wifi application stays off, so the option can now be changed...

Hope this helps!
