I need to set up an DLP Texas instrument LCD projector NOW! 5pm, Friday, Oct 15th any help?

Anything is usually fixable. What you have to determine with Dell's assistance is if it is cost effective to do so.

A DMD is a chip with thousands of tiny mirrors that change angles in order to block or let light through, creating the image you are viewing. Texas Instruments has a great video and explanation here: DLP MEMS

The spots could definitely be caused by a malfunctioning DMD. As much as we would like your business, you will be better off purchasing a new projector. You can try searching ebay for a used working version of the projector so you can utilize the hours on that new lamp (there is currently one for sale for $125 on ebay). If you want to get a new projector, I recommend a website called Projector Central (Projectors Projector Reviews LCD Projectors Home Theater DLP Projectors...) for research on finding the right match for your needs.

LCD projector have only LCD panels in the Projector
DLP projector have only DMD chips in the projector
there is no DMD chips in the LCD projector
there is no LCD panels in the DLP projector

The root function is the fifth item on the MATH menu.

For example, to take the 15th root of 32768:
1 5 MATH 5 3 2 7 6 8 ENTER

This could possibly be the colour wheel or the texas instruments dlp chip.

you need to go to te control pannel and go to display settings then manually select the external monitor then hit apply it will open on your projector

this model is a dlp, not an lcd. reset the settings to factory default. if that doesn't help, replace the colorwheel.
