I need a haier a/c manual (window unit) manual. I am concerned that I put my unit too far into the window well and it may fall onto the neighbor's house. Can anyone clarify how it rests in the window frame?

I don't think a piece of thrown away Styrofoam is the problem. I'm more concerned that you may have also thrown the Owner's Manual away too. You said, "there's nothing on the front to get cool air in." Are you saying, that the front of the unit that has fixed louvers at the bottom and adjustable louvers at the top is missing? Because that's where the cool air comes out thru the adjustable louvers), when the unit is in operation. If the entire front of the unit is missing and the unit is brand new, you need to contact retailer you purchased it from ASAP.
I hope this helps and thank you for choosing FixYa.
Hello, some window units do not have a drain hole for the condensate, instead the use the fan blade to sling the water on the condenser, since the condenser is warm/hot it will evaporate the condensate.
If it has an evaporation pan to "Cook Off" the moisture, it would be putting it back into the air, where it just removed it from. This will, in time cool the room but the humidity is being returned. It is possible however, that drain from the condensor to the collector is clogged, causing it to overflow. If you still have it, install the window exhaust kit that came with the unit. This will help eliminate the humidity from the room and the moisture from the unit.
As for the mols problem, Use a sprayer of choice, depending on how much area you need to spray. Mix unscented CHLORINE bleach with water, 1/2 cup bleach to 1qt water. Spray until surface is wet but it doesn't have to run down the walls, unless you need to treat them too. The chlorine bleach will kill any mold & fungus spores that it contacts. Unscented is a lot easier to live with. The regular smells like a swimming pool for a few days.
I own a Haier A/C window unit, and have the owner's manual. If anyone needs help with this make and model, I might be able to help. Please remember, I am not a certified tech. I only have the manual for simple questions. chicagosinger
