Re: utlimate g vacuum appholstery attachment
Hi! You need to take the power nozzle off and attach the thing that looks like a little plastic cup with two hooks on it. This is the intake guard. Attach it to the front. Now remove the cloth bag and put the hose on the hole where the bag was. You'll have to line the arrow on the hose up with the notch on the Kirby and push the hose arm toward the Kirby until it pops on. If you need to, lube up the edges of the hole with a wee bit of vaseline or hand lotion. This makes the hose engage easier.
Since you lost your manual, you may want another. They are available in DVD, VHS or book format. Check it out!

Is this a bagless vacuum? Some Hoovers work in the opposite from conventional designs; the dirt is blown into dirt cup instead of sucked into a paper bag. If you have this type of vacuum, check the HEPA filter (and any prefilter, if applicable) and gently clean it so as not to damage the filter media.
If this does not help, please resubmit your request with a model number.
First the bag assembly and head (or hose) must be removed. The hose fits onto the motor outlet in place of the bag. You will see a small arrow on the motor end of the hose. Line the arrow up with the "bump" on the metal fan housing and turn it clockwise to snap it in place. Be sure it is fully in place, or the motor will not run. Your attachment box contains an air intake guard which goes on the front in place of the head. Remember - the motor also will not run with the fan exposed. Turn the motor on and blow any dust out of the hose before putting the spray gun on the end of the hose. To make foam, the small foam screen must be attached to the spray gun outlet.
Per the Dyson Web Site I found the solution. Although I cleared all the filters/possible clogs the vacuum had over heated disabling the pull out attachment and power button except when in the reclined position. After clearing the filter and waiting an hour for it to cool it was back to working like normal.
Remove the main head and put on the air guard. Take of the bag assembly and attach the hose. Mix up the solution in the "Suds o gun". Attach this to the end of the hose. When you switch on, foam will dispense from the gun. Gently sponge this into the furniture.
To use the suds-o-gun you need to convert you Kirby to blower mode. First remove the carpet head. If you have all of the standard kirby attachments there should be a plastic cover to go over the front of the kirby where the carpet head attaches. Its round with square holes in one end. If you don't have this no biggie. Just leave the carpet head on the machine and rotate the belt to the off position so the brush rool bush on rotate. Remove the bag for the machine attach the hose where the bag was use the same end that attaches to the front on the machine. There are notches on the inside of the hose connector the fit over the tabs on the bag port. Fill the suds gun tank with shampoo and water. Attach the suds gun to the kirby hose. The suds gun nozzle is funnel shaped with wire mesh on the end. This helps to make the suds finer. Also the suds gun should have a knob to set how much suds come out when you pull the trigger. Turn on you kirby and suds away.

This makes the vacuum blow out to power the suds gun, which should be a part of your attachment set. I like to use half water and half Kirby shampoo in the jar. Place the nozzle on the sprayer for foam. Since you lost your manual, you may need belt change instructions as well. Hope this helps... Marci
