Question about Minka F603-WH Ceiling Fan

1 Answer

Confirmed that power is going to my MinkaAire fan. However, my remote control with new batteries will not turn on the fan or the light anymore. I do not have the owners manual and do not know the model. The fan is white, has five sharply angled blades and has a dome shaped light fixture without pull chains. Please resolve. Thank you.

There is no receiver inside the fan mounting bracket next to the ceiling, only wires from the ceiling connected to wires from the fan. Again, I do not know the model so am wondering about the "F603-WH" designation and if it applies to my particular fan. The receiver is evidently inside the motor housing. How do I access it and how do I test it?

Third comment without response from you: The receiver is not located at the ceiling...only electrical wires from the ceiling connected to the fan. I assume the receiver is in the motor housing. How do I get to it, how do I test it, how do I replace it, where can I get the part? Thank You.

Hi, you have a problem with either the transmitter or the receiver. The transmitter is the remote and the receiver is located inside the fan mounting bracket next to the ceiling. Most times, it's always a receiver problem which needs to be replaced.. If you want to replace it, make sure to set the dip settings on the new receiver exactly as they are on the old one. Wire the new receiver exactly as the old one is wired if it was working before

You need to change the receiver inside the fan. It is located in the top canopy of the fan. The receiver can be purchased at any electronic parts store around you.

Why did fan and lights stop working?

If you are controlling lights and fan only with the remote - no problem. Once you start flipping switches, the remote control loop is broken. You can restore remote control by setting the wall switches to off, turning off power at the circuit breaker (or fuse), and waiting for a few minutes during which you will be removing the battery from the remote and pushing all buttons, then reinstalling the battery. When time is up, restore power and try the remote. If no luck, check to be sure the wall switches are set to off and repeat the routine.

MinkaAire RC120

Fiddling around with the wall switch and remote control settings caused the receiver to suffer a mental breakdown. You may have to purchase a replacement receiver and reprogram from scratch. In practice, you generally have to decide whether to use the wall switch or the remote control, but not both.

Fan and remote not working

If you haven't already done so, replace the remote's battery with a brand new one . Make sure the replacement battery is NEW AND UNUSED, AND WAS PURCHASED RECENTLY, SO IT IS FRESH. Make sure it is installed properly, making good electrical contact, and the proper polarity is observed. Was the remote dropped, sat on or stepped on? Was a liquid spilled on it? Did your pet chew on it? Are any of the buttons loose or stuck? If the remote seems ok, try removing 120 volt power from the fan by turning off the circuit breaker or fuse an your homes main electrical service box. Wait 30 seconds, then turn 120 volt power for the fan back on. This may reset the speed control in the fan unit. If it does not cure the problem, consult a professional electrician, or replace the fan, whichever is more cost-effective.

wait 30 seconds and turn 120
