Question about Cell Phones

Open Question

I have moved offices and I am trying to reconnect our Polycom Soundstation2 Avaya 2490. When I connect the phone, the screen says INITIALIZING, the LED light blink in Red, and the phone stays in that state for hours. I have a Standart 5E Patch cable. Let me tell you what happens as I connect the cables: ? I connect the Network cable from the digital voice jack on the wall into the Soundstation2 Interface. ? Then I connect one of our phones into the Interface, and our phone start working normally, I can make and receive calls from it ? and the screen on that phone doesn?t go blank sporadically (as it does further down the proceedings). ? I then connect the Soundstation2 with the Interface ? Then I connect the powerplug and switch it on. This is when three things happen: 1. The Soundstation stays in the INITIALIZING phase and the three led light blink in red 2. Our other phone connected to the Interface still works but goes off in intermittent times (at some point, the screen on the phone will go blank and I can?t make a call, then it will go back on and I can make a call) 3. The small green light on the Interface stays on but I can hear a slight ?clicking? sound coming from inside the Interface ? it will ?click? every 1 to 5 seconds as soon as the power is switched on. When I press on the phone button the screen goes to 00:00:00 and the red lights stop blinking and I managed to get the System Info : SS2.CON.01.205 (if that?s any help). Please help!

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Power LED blinks red

it is a bad fan. it also could be a power supply. Quite often the real problem is dirt clogging up the fan(s) to the point that they need to be replaced. Operation of the set in a dirty environment is not a good idea

SOURCE: phone stopped working suddenly

This sounds like a flex cable issue. You will need to have a tech examine the device to see if the flex cable needs replacement.

The flex cable is the ribbon cable that connects the screen to the rest of the electronics and allows the slider mechanism to slide and have the device maintain proper electrical connection. After two years it may very well be worn out.

SOURCE: Blackberry 8900 wont turn on

If you did a hard reset and tried a firmware restore then you most likely have a logic board issue. If your carrier doesn't help you or your're out of warranty you can try to replace the logic board yourself with a blackberry bold repair guide.

Can anyone tell me how to place a conference call using the Polycom SoundStation2 when both calls are incoming? I am able to place an incoming call on hold and dial another number and conference them...

No it can't. One call at least must be dialed out to. Try using a conference bridge service if you want to have multiple parties call in to you. Then you and all guests only need to call bridge number which is usually toll free.

We cannot make an indirect call using polycon soundstation2

it appears u have connected it to the epabx extension. when u try nos first & then press call, the unit dials the nos so fast that it does not understand ur access number (0 or 9) for dialling out.for this u need to give a pause between the access number ( 0 or 9 to get the dial tone for diallin an external no)this is available on the keypad as pause / redial & then out the number & press call.the prob should get fixed!

Conference call with a Polycom SoundStation EX

The conferencing capability to bridge 2 (or more) external stations comes from the telephone equipment/service that you have purchased. Either you are behind a PABX or Electronic KSU, which provides multiple phone service to your office, or you purchase conferencing capability from your local telephone provider (Verizon, AT&T, etc). In either case, the way to initiate a conference call would be the same as when you would have a desktop/office phone and establish a conference/bridged call to external parties. Usually this occurs by having one party on the line, flashing the disconnect button momentarily, getting a new dial tone, dialing and connecting to a second party, then flashing the disconnect button again, which signals the equipment to bridge those two calls to your station.  On the SoundStation EX there is a Flash button that provides that capability of momentarily flashing the disconnect button.  Try and see if that works. If not, then you will need to make arrangements to purchase the external equipment or service from your provider.  If you have the PABX or electronic KSU, it may also be a configuration option that you will need to have your support person for your telephone system, activate for that station connected to the SoundStation EX. Hope that helps.

LCD Display keeps flashing "INITIALIZING"

It needs to be plugged into a properly configured Avaya Definity digital port / wall jack. (NOT a regular telephone line as this can damage the polycom!!!) Does another Avaya digital phone work in that jack? If it does then call polycom for a RMA and eturn the phone under warrenty. If another Avaya digital phone does also does not work you need to check the PBX configuration or there is a wiring error at the jack or the PBX.
