Question about Panasonic KXTG6444PK - Cordless Phone

Open Question

Panasonic KX-TG6444PK Help...my caller list suddenly is not working. As usual I push menu-scroll to caller list-select and then none of the soft keys will work...I can't scroll through to see missed calls...the only key that will give a response is the off key. Also, I can't pull up my phonebook by pressing the phonebook key at the top of phone. Finally my visual caller id is not working...the talking caller id is working but the visual name/number is no longer coming up. I'm not sure what happened...it has been this way for the past 2 days...ever since my dh had a conference call using speaker phone on the base. I'm wondering if he pushed something that I'm not figuring out? I have been through the menu and everything that should be on is on.

Hmmmm...it is now working. I unplugged the base and moved it to another room and all functions are now working. Maybe the plug was starting to come out? I would think that the phone wouldn't work at all though.

SOURCE: KX-TG6071M 5.8 GHz talking caller id not working

Hi trinigirl, You should not have to do anything to make the caller id information come through. There is no programming to perform for the regular caller id identification on your display after the second ring (it takes at least one ring cycle for the digital information to pass through). Your model also has the talking caller id function, which will announce in English the callers name or a custom name you can prepare in the phone book of handset number 1. With all that said, you are not getting caller id showing after the second ring, then your phone is bad (which is pretty rare for this symptom), or your phone line still does not have caller id activated. To troubleshoot your problem you need another phone line with working caller id and/or a different phone that is known good to pass caller id. That way you can interchange the phones/lines to see if it is your line or your phone. My guess it is your line somehow, though I have fixed phones that won't pass caller id, but rarely. If it is your phone, try rebooting it, thats about all you can do short of sending it in for repair. Let me know how it goes. CG

Just purchased Panasonic model #KX-TGF380 phone system. How do I turn off built in answering message and record my own message

Make sure that none of the handsets are in use. First, record your own message. Press Menu then # 3 0 2 from the base unit or any handset. Menu is the middle soft key below the LCD screen on the base unit. It's the right soft key below the LCD screen on the handsets. The # key is below the 9. Use the Up/Down arrows to highlight Yes and then press Select. See the screen for the appropriate soft key. After the beep, speak your message while you are 20 cm (8 inches) from the microphone on the handset or base unit. Press Stop when finished. (The phone will stop recording if your message is 2 minutes long.) Press Exit on the base or Off on the handset to leave the menu system.

Turn on the answering machine. Press the button with cassette tape symbol on the base. Press Menu # 3 2 7 on the handset. Your greeting should be heard by incoming callers unless the unit is set to Greeting Only or the memory is full. To check this, press Menu # 3 0 5 . Again, use the up/down arrows to highlight your choice. Press the appropriate soft key to Save the setting.

If you do not want to use the numbers, you can use the Up/Down arrows and Select. Press Menu, highlight Answering Device. Then highlight Greeting. Then select Record Greeting for the first step.

These steps are available in the manual. All except for the greeting length are on page 57. The last section is on page 63. This is available from the product site: http://shop.panasonic.com/cordless-corded-telephones/corded-telephones/KX-TGF38.html#q=KX-TGF380&start=1 . Click on the Support tab. The direct link to the manual is ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tgf380_en_om.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Our visual call waiting no longer works on our Panasonic KX-TGA242CB phones. Our children have obviously pressed the right combination of buttons to disable it and we don't know how to reset it. The phone...

I think if you press MENU, scroll down to "Initial Setting", hit select, scroll down to "Set tel line", hit select, then scroll down to "C.WTG options", hit select, and change it to "on", it should fix your problem. I can't think of another reason why it wouldn't work, but you need to have both Call Waiting and Caller ID. Hope this fixes your problem!
