LG Flatron L1710S Monitor stuck in Power Save Mode
My PC powers up okay but my monitor light remains amber until I press the on/off button which then goes green but after a few seconds goes amber again and shows Power Save Mode. I've tried the escape key on my keyboard as well as the Wake Up key and Power key but nothing happens. Can you suggest anything? From Jim

Re: LG Flatron L1710S Monitor stuck in Power Save Mode
Try wiggling the Cord on the backside of the monitor.. Not the Power Plug Cord, The Other Cord that attaches to the PC. Do this once the monitor turns off , grab ahold of the cord about 2 inches from the back of the monitor, then bend the cord to the right, keep bending from the right to the left a couple times to see if your screen comes back, if it does, than you have a Loose connection and this sometimes causes the Symptoms you are receiving.. Hope it helps.

Im assuming the monitor worked OK until now. The two things I can think of is, First is the cable from the monitor to the computer is either not connected tight either on the monitor side or the computer. The second thing I can think of is a bad video card. I think the monitor is ok because your getting the power save mode on the screen.
I hope this helps you out, if it does please leave me some positive feedback.
I switch on my PC, ensuring that all cables, leads
and power supplies are connected properly. The tower powers up no
problems at all. I switch the screen on, the green led lights up, the
screen is completely black. A blue box appears centrally on the screen
with the text 'power saving mode'. The green led light turns amber and
then the screen just goes black.
Please don't suggest going to control panel, as I can't get that far.
san_pesca, Could be unit is not in power-save-mode, but has CCFL blacklight failure!! But that's only a guess! NO previous history was given or approximate total "ON" hrs. of use unit has seen during it's life!
YES, You too, bigbill1223, will need to do some soldering of poor thermally fractured solder joints and/or replace some bad electrolytic filter capacitors on your l1710's "switch-mode-power-supply"/ "inverter supply inside the monitor. Visit youtube for "lcd monitor repair""lcd monitor disassembly" videos. You will be impressed with what you find there!!! also visit www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm amd www.lcdparts.net and www.badcaps.net for all the info you might need to effect a repair. If soldering ain't your thing, then you will pay 10x the cost of parts alone to farm out the work!! There, I got you started. Now all you need is to do some reading of my profile 12fixlouie aka louie12fix on fixya or another guy that's real good nickname= "buddymc" on fixya. Then do a new comment to your original post. Bye for now. 12fixlouie nrt of windy-city
Your monitor goes to Power Saving Mode when the signal it is receiving is not correct.
In all probability this is not a problem of the monitor itself, rather you should check the connections and the computer the monitor it's connected to. For example you could try a different RGB cable and try it in a different computer.
