For "diss"

You can tweak it with some software download the software from http://www.motvik.com/ and use your own predefined image for default image.

For "piston1"
What software you are using? I will suggest you to use webcam recorder for motion videos. For images just use Print Screen Key

I want to take a picture with my webcam for my facebook profile picture

Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there if you are have trouble with your webcam Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver xp Click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll to image devices expand right click to update driver in W7 http://download.cnet.com/2000-20_4.html on the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for IE: webcam name webcam driver you might have to try a few times to get it right tick in either windows software or the all software box. If you don't have or cant find the driver you will need to download one here rather doing a driver hunt which can take hours http://download.cnet.com/slimdrivers-free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html It might take some time being a freeware driver solution Note: This will find all of your outdated drivers This program will automatically search for and find the correct driver you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point. Click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated. Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Which-version-of-DirectX-is-on-your-computer b> b> Go to Facebook and log into your account. Click the "Profile" tab. Click the "Video" link in the "Status" menu. Select the "Record a Video" option. For privacy reasons, Facebook requests permission to access your webcam and microphone. Check the box next to "Allow" and click "Close." You will appear in real time on the Facebook webcam window. Position yourself in front of the webcam and click the red "Record" button to begin recording your new video. When you're finished, press the "Stop" button. Click the "Play" button to view your video. If you want to post it on your profile, add a brief message and click "Share." If you're not satisfied with the outcome, press "Reset" and record a new video. b> Video Message Log into your Facebook account Navigate through your friends list and select the friend you want to send a video message to on Facebook. Click the "Send Message" link in the upper-right corner of your friend's page. Click the "Video" icon in the attachments section at the bottom of the "New Message" window. Check the box next to "Allow" to give Facebook permission to access your webcam and microphone, and then click "Close." Press "Record" and record your new video message. Click "Stop" when you're finished recording. When you're finished recording, you can press "Play" to preview your video. Hope this helps.

How do u download pic 2 wprofile on web site

Hi!

Just what exactly are you trying to do. Your picture to be uploaded and become the profile picture in a website profile page (like Facebook or yahoo or gmail)?

First of all you need to save the picture as jpeg format (recommended format for image and picture.
You will need to shorten the image size of the picture. Because most of picture uploader needs at utmost 150 kb size of the image file. (In case your picture exceeds the allowable size.. there is a free software that you can use to cut the image size of your picture (like Image Resizer program)

Just post back if you still have some question.

thank you for using Fixya

Can i take my photo useing my built in web cam to add to my profile

yes, if you click start and go to your programs list, you should have a folder with your camera there. Open it up and run the cam program. Take a "snapshot" of yourself and save it to your pictures folder as a .jpg. Once you do that, you can now Upload that pic to wherever you want to post it to. :)

Cheers!

Could anyone possibly help me out? I have a logitech Webcam C300. I works fine for things like skype etc, but it won't let me post pictures or videos on facebook? It takes the picture, but when I click...

Sounds like it is working fine, your problems may lie where the camera is trying to save the photos on your computer. can you set the default save location for photos and video?
It may be trying to save them in a location that does not exist

Dont know how to turn it on to see myself on my computer.

You will need to load one of the programs that came with the camera in order to see yourself on the camera. Logitech has a control program on the install disc that will allow you to activate the camera and see the picture. You may have to set the source for the video to the camera in the control panel. I ran into this problem because windows was looking at another digital camera I used for photographs.
