I'd check rodes site and see if you can buy one, or take it to a pro audio repair shop, tubes aren't very expensive and can be easily replaced.

The tv is at least 17 years old.The blinking red light blinks 5 times ,then the tv picture goes off . The voice is still on

Five blinks is the error code for an AKB (auto kine bias) error. What this means is that the set isn't able to balance the three color guns (red, green and blue) of the picture tube properly, and it's blanking out the screen.

To get the proper colors, the signals for the three colors need to be balanced, and Sony sets have circuitry to do this automatically. Other brands don't, and when they go out of balance you see a picture that starts to show tinting or colors that are off. As the picture tube ages, it gets harder to adjust the balance until finally the AKB circuit can't anymore, and poof, the picture goes away. With a 17-year-old tube, it's not surprising.

There isn't anything that can be done to fix the picture tube, it would need to be replaced. But the cost of the tube and the work required to get it set up after installation makes it completely uneconomical to repair this TV. A new picture tube is nearly $200. Then special tools are required to set the tube up (a process called convergence), so you'd need to find someone to put it in, and possibly pay to have the old one disposed of. A new 32-inch LCD set is around $350 now. Treat yourself to a new one.

Hello my ge JVM1630WH003 oven make a lound huming sound. It will not heat food or water up . The oven 6 years old. Thank You Kurt

That loud humming is a typical sign of a bad magnetron tube, the microwave source. Six years isn't an unreasonable lifespan for one, so the failure isn't unusual. The tube can be replaced, but it's the most expensive part in the oven, and you should let a professional do the repair. Microwave ovens are dangerous to work on, and there's a chance of microwave leakage if the repair isn't done correctly.

Between the cost of the part and labor, it may be more economical to replace the oven. Check the cost of a new one, then see what a service shop in your area would charge to fix yours. You might find only a small difference in cost, and the new oven would have a warranty.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya!

14 years old. Hit the start button this AM and it

Yep, get a new one. Your oven's magnetron tube, the microwave source, has gone bad. They often go with a bang. While the tube could be replaced, the repair will likely cost more than a new oven. At 14, it's done you well but it's time to move on.

My nt2 started to cut out and fade out so I pluged an nt1 on the same cord and it works fine

Send it back to Rode and if its not caused by Misuse, should be covered under their 10 year warranty.

No sound tube wont light up

Sounds like you need a new Tube. Rode should be able to replace.

Contact Rode (, i am unsure if they cover the tube's in their 10 year warranty, if not you will have to pay, or try to replace yourself (not reccomended if you don't know what your doing.)

12 yr. old 25" G.E. picture fading

I gotta love it when people make up answers. There is no such thing as a "contrass module". I'm assuming the poster meant "contrast". The trouble is your 12-year-old picture tube. It's gotten weak and isn't getting as bright or sharp as it used to. Picture tube manufacturers estimate the useful life of a tube at about 7 years today. There are adjustments inside that might help some, but you need a new picture tube. It's going to cost a lot more than $60 to $75 for that. You're better off replacing the TV.

Rode ntk has lost gain

This is more likely typical component failure, and will require professional service. A tube change is easy to perform, however, and should be the first troubleshooting step.
