Question about Vivitar ViviCam 5385 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I bought a 4 gig memory chip and used it successfully in this camera but lost the chip and purchased a new one which the camera does not seem to recognise. When the camera switches on, it seems to stall and I do not see the main menu on the screen. Does the new chip need to be formatted to be recognised. I am unsure of the model number of the camera. Is there a download from vivitar which I can put on the chip so that it can be recognised by the camera?

I have had success with this camera recovery software named asoftech photo recovery... Download the program
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

I bought a 4 gig CF card for my fuji S2, and when I intiailize the card, I get a "card error". Is my card bad, or will my camera not support such a high gig card? 1 gig cards work fine.

From administrative tools in the control panel on a pc,you can format a 4 gig card to fat (not fat32) in the disk management window. It works fine in my Fuji s2.

Got new olympus memory card, keeps saying card error

Is the memory card the correct capacity? Is it too "big"? ie is it say a 8 gig and maybe your camera only supports 4 gig? I had that problem with my camera-I had bought a memory card which was too high in capacity for it. Check your user manual for the cards and capacity you can use.

Memory upgrade

THIS MAY BE A BOIS PROBLEM, THE SOFTWARE OPERATIONAL SYSTEM WILL ONLY ALLOW TWO 2 SLOTS TO WORK IN THE MEMORY CONFIGURATION, EVEN THROUGH YOU HAVE 4 BANKS, MOST LIKELY 2 BANKS WITH THE MAXIMUIN MEMORY OF 2GB PER SLOT FOR THE TOTOAL OF 4GB OF RAM NOT 4 SINGLE 1GB CHIP SETS. YOU SHOULD TRY IT.

Type of memory for e210882 motherboard

Hi,

the memory you're about to purchase will not work. the maximum gig that the computer can handle per stick is only 1 gig. this system is not designed for 4 gig barrier.

hope this helps.

thanks.

HD 720 does not seem to detect 4 gig SD memory card.

I think it will only take SD memory cards not a PNY.

Problem accessing memory stick

I had the same problem. I bought a 2 gig memory pro-duo with the adapter and it gave me that error even though it fit just fine. I then tried a 512 memory stick and a 1 gig memory stick and neither one worked it gave me the C:13:01 error code. So I found out the hard way that the camera will not read it. The Sony DSC-S85 will not take memory above a 128. Try the Lexar 64MB memory stick. I just bought 4 and they work perfectly fine.

New SD Card wont work - all the others I have do!!

I believe any SD cards larger than 2Gb are technically SDHC cards, which are not compatible with all cameras. Kingston is a decent company so I'm guessing it's not because the card is a dud. If your camera doesn't advertise SDHC compatibility then I don't think you can get the card to work in it.
