Lost my manual on my Craftsman LTS 2000 20 HP-wondering if I can mulch leaves with my lawnmower and how?

It is removable buy a new one but if it has come loose it will be hard but can be put back with patience and a little sweat.

Try lowering the deck on the mower, it might be too high and it's just sucking the leaves up without cutting them

That's very close to my fathers 247.288841. He recently caught it on fire mulching leaves. I could not find a wiring diagram in any of the manuals online.

I bought a new wiring harness to replace the one he melted. The harness was only about $50 and it was easier than trying to repair the melted wires. The wiring harness was amazingly complete. It included EVERYTHING from the battery bolts all the way to the front headlight sockets. It came with all the plastic retainers that fasten it to the frame.

It's possible I could answer specific questions, but I have no diagram.

yes that is most likely the cause of it, also, you have to cut more often when mulching, and the higher the cutting deck, the more likely the grass will blow out without getting mulched enough. More than likely, the blades are dull, and/or the grass is too high, or possibly even wet if it is high.

A regular blade has a straight cutting edge, a mulching blade is bent to have a high and low cutting edge. Even if you have a mulching blade on, if the grass is too high or wet or you're cutting too low, it won't do a good job and may require a second pass.Raising your cutting height can help. The bag return on the 6.5 sits on two hooks. Standing to the left of the mower you should be able to grab the back handle with your left hand and then left the metal protective flap with your left hand so you can raise the bag assembly still in your right hand up and out of the two hooks. You'll then need to put back into the mower the mulching kit which blocks the rear discharge and makes the underside of the mower a complete circle so the mulching effect works. Obviously the mower will physically work without the mulching kit because the metal protective flap will cover the rear eject but it will NOT effectively mulch the clippings and you will get longer pieces that clump.
