Hi.........i want to buy a console
It really depends on what you're looking for in a console. I own both, and they both have their good sides and bad sides. Without knowing anything about what type of games you like to play, previous consoles you've owned, etc., I would lean more towards recommending the PS3. Why? Simply because based on my own experience and that of tons of others, they're MUCH more reliable. I've had no problems with my PS3 at all, whereas my 360 has been sent in for service once already--and came back with the exact same problem.
That doesn't necessarily mean you shouldn't get a 360, mind. The most important thing you should do is go look at the games that are available and upcoming for both consoles and see which one has a list that sounds more appealing to you. Different games appeal to different people, and it's not much good having even the most awesome console in the world if there's not any games you like for it. The 360 and the PS3 do have a lot of overlap when it comes to available games, but there are some that are exclusive, and if there's exclusive games for one console or the other that you REALLY want, it could be a deciding factor for you.
On a side note, if you're interested in playing multiplayer games online, the PS3 does offer its online service (PlayStation Network) for free. Xbox Live costs I believe $50 or so per year, but most people (including me) consider it to be the superior service in many ways. Also, backwards compatibility can play a part in your decision. If there's a lot of original Xbox games you want to play, or a lot of PS2 games, then that could also help you to decide one way or the other.
Hopefully I helped and didn't just confuse you more. =P
