Battery dead but the charger says its fully charged

Hi testing battery voltage will not give an accurate reading on battery condition U need a BATTERY LOAD TESTER.it will check the condition & give U a true reading on there condition ,..if batteries r good the next thing to check is the control box the charger circuit runs into the control then to the batteries if control box is faulty this could b the problem .,with youre charger not charging . You need a new battery if your alternator is putting out 14.5 volts you can try a charger just make sure you disconnect both cables and try a charge of a charger if it still doesn't take you most likely have a dead cell which may as well be a dead no good battery

The battery is no longer good. You will need to buy a new battery. Don't over charge your batteries. They all vary. Expensive cordless tools will come with a charger that shuts off automatic to prevent over charging. I own cheap Skill drills that has served me well. These batteries lasted over 11years. It makes no sense. They should not have lasted more than 5 yrs., even 2yrs. I make sure I never over charged them, but they should not last that long. Freaky. Your battery is dead forever, sorry. I have others just like yours waiting to be recycled.

have your alternator tested, and check all your fuses

Any battery left in a charger is still hooked up to a circuit. Depending on the charger this can mean a slow discharge is possible. The gauge reads the amps that the charger is putting out. So 100 would mean the battery is dead and 0 means it's fully charged.

How many amps does this charger put out????
A small trickle charger will take forever to fully recharge a dead battery, you'll need to have a battery charger that can put out enough amps to properly charge a dead battery.To clarify, the chargers sold at Sears, the large square types on wheels are the best for charging dead batteries and they also have an amp meter telling you how much the battery is accepting. After you charge your battery, you should be around 12.5 volts to 12.7 volts. DO NOT OVER CHARGE!!!

the battery's are most likely dead, (like the real dead) after many uses of rechargeable battery's they slow stop holding charge at all, make sure when you get a new rechargeable battery you fully charge it once and fully discharge it once this will increase batterys life time

THis is really a sign of a bad battery that is always being detected fully charge but its really drian , so it will be better for you to replace that battery.....

from what I hear, you have either fully charged your battery or your battery is pretty much completely dead.

your options:

1. If it's completely dead and won't hold a charge it's time to purchase another battery, this happens from time to time so don't freak out about it.
2. If it's fully charged, try taking the battery completely out of the phone, and re-inserting it after a few minutes, sometimes cell phones need to be reset.
3. ensure that your charger is working properly, if its not getting juice to it neither is your phone.
4. try to dial your number just to see what happens to the phone.
5. if someone else u know has a charger like yours try to borrow theirs to charge your phone possibly ruling out a bad charger
