First requisite is that we need to know the model number of the laptop which will help us to identify whether we can upgrade the RAM and to what extent. Also we will get to know how many slots are available in the Laptop.

Mislaid plug to my Packard Bell Laptop Windows 98. Where would I purchase a new one or second hand one.

Would have to know the model, but you might check your local thrift shops, especially the larger ones.

Here in Texas, several cities have a Salvation Army computer store that gets all the computer donations, great place to find stuff like that at a fair price.

Otherwise, you can get a 'universal' power supply that comes with various 'tips' that also set the right voltage for the laptop in question. Generally, you can find them for around 90 bucks, but they can often be found on sale for less...sometimes much less.
