    Same here (E01 error). Solution?

  • jefrox Aug 12, 2008

Same with me, my TV is Pioneer PDP-433HD. 3 days ago it suddenly shuts down and when i try to turn it on, it displays an error E01 code. So i tried to troubleshoot myself by unplugging the power cord and let it rest for 10 minutes. When I powered it on, it started normally but after 20 minutes of viewing it shuts down again with the same error code E01. What seems to be the problem and what is the meaning of this error.

I have the same problem with my Pioneer PDP 433HD. I tried doing a reset and this seems to solve the problem for a couple of hours, but inevitably the problem still comes back.

Check your system cable as it may be damaged or it may not have a good enough connection.

Error e01 keeps coming up can turn on tv at all I have unplugged it plugged it back in several times let it sit and nothing works

Hi,

This indicates a faulty PCB. This is a common error on Sharp TV.If this is not Sharp TV, kindly revert and i would be able to explain you the meaning of the error code.

Unfortunately, this would not resolved by unplugging. You need to open the TV and repair it. If you have electronics repair experience, would be able to use multimeter and soldering iron, could read schematics - revert with the model number and i would be able to provide you few pointers.

Let me know,so that we could proceed.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Pioneer TV External Tuner Problem

As you all know this is a very common problem. It is located in the two power boards inside the machine. These media receivers run really hot and the solder on these circuits boards crack, thus losing power when hot. Leave to cool and ok again. To fix you can remove these boards and touch each solder joint with a fine tip soldering iron until it becomes molten then move on to the next joint. Do all the joints, reassemble and presto, you should be back in business. These board are located between the on-off swith and the rear power input. It is a little fiddely, but if you halfway competant, then it shouldn't be a problem. I've done it a couple of times now, so if anybody feels a bit nervous, I'll do it for them for a small fee. contact glangford@tycoint.com

Screen completely off

I found this possible solution in another forum - I really hope this will help you out twister50... As an electronics design engineer this sounds as if it could well be the cause of your problem... Good Luck!! - Rob UK

I had exactly the same problem with my 503HDE. Screen would randomly shutdown and display E01.

In my case I believe that the cable was not at fault. The power supply in the media box looks like the most likely culprit.

I dismantled the media box and removed the LARGE power supply board and checked for dry solder joints. Sure enough, where the heatsink was soldered onto the board the joints were in a bad way. I reckon this is a symptom of the fact that the media boxes for V3 Pio's get very hot - all that expanding and contracting is likely to create dry solder joints. Taking the box apart shouldn't be a problem for anyone with a reasonable level of IT type skills!

I resoldered the joints and (touch wood) I've not had a problem for over 2 months. Whilst I can't guarantee that this is the definitive fix for this problem it seems to have worked for me. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else finds this cures the E01 problem.

Not being a hardware engineer, my only doubt is why the heatsink is connected electrically to the circuit board. Would this be for earthing purposes or perhaps to do with temperature sensing? Not sure about that - rolleyes.gif

Hope this helps someone - six grand is a lot of dosh to write off!! __________________

buy the radio shack "6 in 1" remote. It is absoluetly amazing. picked up all my codes, and actually uses voice commands to step you thru the process. It is the only remote I could find without spending 100 bucks or more that worked for my sylvania, and at only 15 bucko's, you can't beat it.
