This can depend on the firmware you are running. PSP's firmware version 3.0 and up supports the camera. Have a wi-fi network that you can access close by, make sure your battery is charged and select network update.

SOURCE: DVD region code lock unlocking on PS3

Hi Lleuclid,

With the indulgence of yalmer...

To my knowledge, PS3s are basically region free, unfortunately it is the TV (more often) that can not display the video. Australia and Singapore both are using PAL (576i) system while Region 4 is using NTSC (480i), completely different color system. Hence the TV where the PS3 is connected to should be capable of either PAL or NTSC. Alternately, most PAL TVs can play 480i (NTSC) if and only if they’re hooked up using SCART RGB connector.

On to your other concern of making a Daewoo DV-900 region free, pls try below steps:
1.Open tray
2.With Control push 8 2 8 6 and 0
3.It will display on screen REGION FREE
4.Close tray

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

When I insert a DVD disc I get the message "cannot read disc". The DVD player will play an audio CD but not the video. DVD player is a JVC Model #XV-N320.

Good day. The message your getting only tells you that the Dvd your trying to play have a lot of scratches already that makes it unreadable for your dvd player. You can try to wipe the dvd first then try it again. If it doesn't work then that means the dvd unusable. Hope this information help a bit in resolving your question. Thanks for using fixya and have a great day

I purchased a region 1 dvd, but my dvd player only plays region 2 dvd's. I've got a JVC XV-N30 player. Can you please tell me how I can modify my player in order to get him played my region 1 dvd?

If you get a magic marker and write "Region Free" on the underside of your DVD player (make sure it is on the underside as otherwise it won't work). This will ensure all disks will work in your DVD player, even floppy disks believe it or not.

I have a JVC DVD Player (XV-N670B), (XV-N672S). I recently purchased a BluRay DVD and after inserting the DVD into the player, "Disc Error" appears. Would you tell me if my player can...

Sorry to say, no; this is a model limitation not a fault as such. XV-N670B is a DVD player, and the playable formats are:

    DVD-Video, DVD-RW/-R, +RW/+R, CD, CD-R/RW, SVCD/VCD, WMA/MP3/JPEG, DivX. No Blu-ray support.

The JVC XV-BP11 and XV-BP1 do play Blu-Ray discs, as they are specifically Blu-Ray players (according to the JVC website).

I have heard of quite a few Blu-Ray players allowing DVD playback. The XV-BP1 supports the following playable media: BD-R/RE (Blu-Ray), DVD-Video/-R/-RW, R/ RW, CD, USB (again, this is from the same JVC website). You would need to purchase this or a similar Blu-Ray player to enjoy the benefits it has to offer (but it's up to you if you want one of those later on).

DVDs are still good, the 'disc error' message on your DVD player is normal due to the wrong media format inserted. The bonus here is it didn't cost you anything to ask, and you don't need a workshop quote on repairs.

This is the best free advice I can offer.

Need to unlock JVC XV-N55SkL DVD Player. It is from the uk and i would like to use in Australia. Please can u help? With Regards Angela

I'm sorry to say there is no easy answer to this one I'm afraid! Some JVC dvd players need unlocking from whatever region by the use of a plug-in unit which goes into the scart socket - I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE! I own a JVC unit which needs unlocking as well and I'm not getting very far.
My advice to you is this. Wait until you get to Australia (Region 4) and buy a multi-region player there or buy a basic DVD player in somewhere like Tesco and hack it before you move. It may be helpful to you if you check out this website: and look at the dvd player hacks section (makes/models) then you will know what player to buy.
Please be advised: not all players can be hacked via the remote control. I wish you luck with this problem and hope the move "Down Under" goes well. (:-)
