depending on your alarm which it sounds like a viper model maybe? on my 02 you have to incorporate a factory alarm bypass module in order to be able to start the truck, they run about 100.00 bucks and have to be profssionally installed. The truck wont start because the computer isnt recieving the proper starting sequence due to the factory alarm

SOURCE: We have a 2005 GMC
Without knowing how old the battery(s) in the remote are, I would suggest that to be the first thing to replace. It is relatively easy and inexpensive to do - and could solve the problem.
You can attempt to pry the remote apart to access the battery(s) after removing the remote from the keyring, or bring it to a Batteries Plus store (or a hardware store) where an employee can replace it for you.
Beyond that, you'll probably have to return to the place of installation of the starter to resolve the issue. A phone call to the installer may be able to solve the problem over the phone instead of having to go there.

Hi, try replacing the battery in the key fob and if that does not solve the problem, reset the remote control, removing battery and refitting may reset, check user manual for the procedure for your car.
If that don't also solve it, contact your car dealer first before thinking of replacing the key fob.
