Question about LG W2252TQ Monitor

Open Question

I have a W2240T. Running Windows 7 Plug n play detects the monitor as a W2240 and only allows me to select upto 1680x1050. I want to run in 1920 x 1080. Where can I get the updated driver to fix this problem.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Cant get 1280x1024 when connected to laptop

the only way you may get it to work is if you use the monitor a secondary device and also use the notebook monitor as well. But the problem may also be the vga connector converting the signal, as you may have to have a DVI connection on your monitor to obtain widescreen resolutions.

I have added the link to your monitor below if you need to reference it. However since you are using your HDMI cable you need to put the monitor into IMAGE SETTINGbecause HDMI refreshes differenently than your standard video does.

So once you after you bring up the menu then scroll down to the IMAGE SETTING section. Once you are in this section you will select HDMI Mode. Once you have this set your video should fit properly.

A monitor being identified as "Generic Plug & Play" is normally fine. LG does not have a driver listed on their website, so there probably isn't one anyway. Most monitors work very similarly, and Windows knows this. Hence the Generic Plug & Play device driver. Unless there is a problem, don't worry about it, that is perfectly normal.

You might need to change the monitor's power supply. I have seen similar problems with other LG models. Usually it is easier to replace the power supply than trying to troubleshoot it.

Replacing the power supply usually involves a few screws and a few cable connections. Troubleshooting the power supply board itself usually involves soldering replacements for blown capacitors.

How do I set the resolution, screen posts a box saying for best results use 1680 x 1050@60HZ, how can I set this?

Hello,
In XP goto the control panel and click display. Select the Settings tab and move the screen resolution bar to the right until it says 1680x1050.
Vista should be similar to the XP instructions.
In windows 7 goto the control panel and click display. Select Adjust Resolution from the menu to the left. Now adjust the display setting to 1680x1050.

Hello, I have been using my asus vw222u monitor for a while now, connected to my dell dimension 4600 pc. I have been running the resolution at 1024x768, and been getting relatively clear pictures, but...

Your graphics card will not support that refresh rate @ 1680x1050. you may need to upgrade your graphics card.

Here is the best price/performance card for your machine. and will support upto 2048x1536 @ 85Hz

Hope this helps.

I bough the LCD model VA2231w- LED every time I turn it on then it pop up that change the resoluyion to 1920/ 1080P I don't know how to do it. So please help. Thanks Thai Nguyen

This would be the Native resolution. That your display functions and displays best in.
Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
(1) RIGHT mouse click over your desktop.
lightdark_0.jpg
Windows XP will differ - but same basic idea to navigate and make this fix.
Pictures show from a Windows Vista Machine (extremely similar to Windows 7)
(2) Click Display settings
lightdark_1.jpg
(3) Now you'll see a slider bar, Native Computer Display 1680x1050 resolution.
Some computers can not support this resolution and may cause non operational situations.
If the display setting is not on the slider bar. Chances would be that it's not a supported Resolution.
"Older computer" If the display doesn't show while trying different resolutions - do not click apply and wait. the screen will return to it's previous setting. ViewSonic VX2235 has a Setting that could be used to Disable this annoying message - Revert to ViewSonic lightdark_2.jpg

Windows 7 will not allow me to pick 1680x1050 for the resolution. It defaults to a lower resolution with no option to take it higher.

Go to Windows 7 web site and check the equipment compatability list for your monitor.

If it is there - read the particulars

If it is not, complain to the monitor manufacturer - ask them to create a driver for this model.

I hope this helps you

The S2209W is designed to be run at the optimal resolution of 1920 x 1080 http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/S2209W/en/ug/optimal.htm
selecting a lower resolution will result in generally unsatisfactory appearance. This is due to the hard wiring of the pixels in LCD screens.
What you can do to abate the text being too small is adjust the DPI setting from the default of 96 to 120, or even 144 if you need real large text

KVM is Starview SV411. I'm Testing Windows 7. The problem occurs with all versions of Windows 7 but does not occur with previous versions of Windows nor with Linux. I set the display to 1680x1050 on...

The KVM switch you have did not support "Active Full-time DDC" which Windows 7 need to keep communicating with all connected systems over the KVM switch. Two solutions: find a DDC Ghost adapter put in between the KVM switch and connected Win 7 system. Or just replace a new KVM switch which support Full-time Active DDC function - such as ConnectPRO new PR or UR serial KVM switches.
